Reconciliation Accountant
City: Fort Wayne
Job Description:
Join Purdue University Fort Wayne:
We are currently seeking a full-time, on-site Reconciliation Accountant in our Accounting & Budget officeFinancial professional who will serve in a key role supporting the Purdue Fort Wayne campus in financial related matters ensuring compliance, monitoring and controlling for all business areas. This person will possess a bias for action and also a strong desire for financial reporting and analysis. The annual pay for this position is $56,000.00.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Review daily treasury report for payments posting for financial aid deposits
  • Daily Banner-to-SAP reconciliation
  • Interfaces with Department of Education's G5 system to initiate draw requests for
  • Title IV funds such as Direct Loans, PELL, SEOG, and Federal Work Study
  • Initiate refunds for unused Alternative Loans
  • Initiate refunds for Perkins Loans, PELL and Direct Loans
  • Reconcile all financial aid accounts: Direct Loans, PELL, SEOG, FWS, Outside Scholarships, ICHE, Alternative Loans & Chapter 33
  • Reconcile Chase Bank and cash-in-transit accounts
  • Reconcile Bursar refunding accounts
  • Provide financial aid with information for FISAP audit
  • Performs FWS reconciliation to uncover discrepancies between Payroll, SAP, and Banner
  • Reconciles previously unreconciled accounts and creates procedures to more easily perform future reconciliations of that account
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
  • BA/BS Degree- consideration will be given to those working towards their degree.
  • 3 years of experience in accounting/finance.
  • Strong Excel skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • BA/BS with 2 years accounting experience.
