Job description

General Summary of Job Duties:
The Apprentice Bartender will be responsible for assisting the bartenders in a variety of tasks, such as preparing and serving beverages, maintaining inventory, and adhering to safety and health policies. This role will require excellent communication, customer service, and time-management skills.
Principle Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Assists the Bartenders to maintain cleanliness and orderliness of all bars.
  • Must be able to accurately enter food and beverage orders into the MICROS system and follow departmental cash handling procedures with guest comps and credit cards.
  • Work safely, with sanitation, efficiency, and with Guest's loyalty.
  • Adheres to the proper par stock levels at all bars and coolers when executing the liquor order. Must also be able to order bottle for bottle from the warehouse and verify orders that are received from the warehouse daily.
  • Must be able to complete all assigned tasks with minimal supervision and demonstrate a sense of urgency no matter what business volume is at the time.
  • Properly store all glassware, condiments, beer, liquor, and paper products, fruits and garnishes, and any other necessary items to operate an efficient operation. All fresh cut fruit preparation items such as fresh cut fruit will be labeled properly, and First in First out procedures will be followed on all items.
  • Ensures proper alcohol awareness procedures.
  • Be careful and diligent with all dishes, glasses, and service ware.
  • Check for proper identification of a person who is under the age of 35.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills, Education & Other Requirements:
  • Prior experience in a high-volume, fast-paced bar/restaurant environment.
  • Knowledge of and experience with flair bartending techniques.
  • Excellent communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multitask and work well in a team environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
  • Flexible schedule and availability to work weekends and holidays.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older and possess or obtain current Southern Nevada Health District (SNHD) Alcohol Awareness Training Card and Nevada Gaming Control Board registration.
  • Candidates with mixology certifications are preferred.
  • must be able to lift to 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time.
