Job description

Our SelectLeaders client is adding an Analyst to support a growing development team. This role was created to build analytical and operational capacity as the firm scales its $1.5B+ industrial pipeline across Texas and Oklahoma.

This is a foundational role for a motivated early-career professional who wants to learn real estate development from the ground up — working directly alongside principals and a Sr. Associate in a lean, coaching-oriented environment. They will invest in your development; you bring the work ethic, attention to detail, and financial foundation.

Job Responsibilities
  • Financial Modeling & Pro Forma Support: Build and maintain Excel-based financial models, pro formas, and cash flow projections for active development deals. Input actuals into cash flow models and assist with sensitivity analysis and return modeling under senior direction.

  • Due Diligence Support: Assist in coordinating due diligence for land acquisitions, construction loans, and asset dispositions. Compile and organize diligence materials, track open items, and support the preparation of financing packages for debt and equity partners.

  • Market Research: Conduct market analysis to identify opportunities and trends, assess project feasibility, and maintain lease and sales comps databases across the target Texas and Oklahoma markets.

  • Project Tracking & Coordination: Assist in tracking project milestones across land acquisition, entitlement, permitting, and construction. Help manage timelines and flag outstanding items to the project team.

  • Reporting & Documentation: Prepare regular project status summaries and updates for internal use. Draft and review project-related documentation and ensure materials are organized and current.

  • Team Support: Work closely with the Sr. Associate and principals across all active deals. Take ownership of assigned workstreams and proactively communicate progress, questions, and issues.
Qualifications
  • 2–4 years of experience in real estate development, investment, private equity, brokerage, or a related discipline.

  • Strong Excel skills — comfortable building and navigating financial models; pro forma experience preferred.

  • Solid understanding of real estate investment fundamentals: returns, cash flows, and development economics.

  • Highly motivated self-starter

  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Bachelor's degree in Real Estate, Finance, Business, Engineering, or a related field.

Preferred Skills
  • Experience in a development, REIT, or private equity real estate platform — even in a junior support capacity.

  • Familiarity with Texas real estate markets, particularly Houston MSA industrial or logistics product.

  • Exposure to land acquisition, entitlement, or construction processes.

  • Asset class flexibility — multifamily or mixed-use backgrounds are welcome; industrial experience is not required.

  • Master's degree in Real Estate, MBA, or related advanced degree a plus, though not required.
