Job description

What's the Opportunity?ย

As an Agent Configuration Specialist, you will configure and deliver AI agents and agent-enabled workflows on Zafin's AI Operating System (AIOS).ย Working from defined business requirements and solution designs, you will translate use cases into configured agent behaviours, prompts, tools, workflow logic, guardrails and human-in-the-loop controls.

The role will work closely with Agent Engineers, Agent Architects, evaluation specialists and client-facing teams to move agent solutions from initial configuration through testing, deployment and continuous improvement. You will be accountable for the quality, reliability and maintainability of your configurations and will identify when a requirement can be delivered through platform configuration versus when additional engineering is needed.

This is a hands-on delivery role for someone who enjoys solving workflow problems, experimenting with agent behaviour and turning repeatable configuration patterns into reliable production capabilities.

What Will You Do?ย

  • Translate defined business processes, user needs and approved solution designs into configured AI agents and agent-enabled workflows on Zafin AIOS.
  • Configure agent instructions, prompts, tools, actions, workflow steps, decision logic, templates, structured outputs and reusable components.
  • Configure appropriate guardrails, permissions, escalation paths, exception handling and human review points based on the risk and complexity of the use case.
  • Connect agents to approved enterprise tools, APIs, knowledge sources and platform capabilities, partnering with Agent Engineers where custom development or complex integration work is required.
  • Test agent behaviour using representative scenarios, expected outcomes, edge cases and failure conditions before release.
  • Work with evaluation specialists and business stakeholders to review output quality, workflow completion, accuracy, reliability and fitness for purpose.
  • Diagnose configuration and runtime issues, distinguish configuration defects from product or engineering issues, and work with the appropriate teams to resolve root causes.
  • Support deployments across development, testing and production environments using established release, version-control and change-management practices.
  • Monitor deployed configurations, review user feedback and performance results, and make targeted improvements to prompts, workflow logic, tools and controls.
  • Create reusable configuration templates, patterns, playbooks and implementation assets that accelerate future agent delivery across client engagements.
  • Maintain clear documentation of agent purpose, configuration logic, dependencies, controls, test results, known limitations and operational procedures.
  • Participate in solution workshops, demonstrations, design reviews, release-readiness reviews and knowledge-transfer sessions with internal teams and client stakeholders.

What Do You Need to Succeed?ย

Must Havesย

  • 3-6 years of experience configuring, implementing or supporting enterprise software, workflow automation, low-code/no-code platforms, AI-enabled applications or comparable production systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate business processes and solution requirements into configurable workflows, rules, actions, decision logic and system behaviours.
  • Hands-on experience configuring complex workflows or applications using visual builders, administrative consoles, rules engines, orchestration tools or comparable platform capabilities.
  • Practical understanding of generative AI concepts, including prompts, context, tool use, structured outputs, hallucination risk and the need for human review and operational guardrails.
  • Experience testing configured solutions using defined scenarios, expected outcomes, edge cases and failure conditions.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to isolate whether an issue relates to configuration, data, integration, permissions, environment or underlying product behaviour.
  • Working knowledge of APIs and structured data formats such as REST, JSON or YAML, sufficient to configure and troubleshoot integrations using established patterns.
  • Experience moving configurations through development, testing and production environments using disciplined release, versioning and change-management practices.
  • Strong attention to detail and the judgment to balance delivery speed with quality, reliability and operational risk.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to document configuration decisions and explain system behaviour to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with engineers, architects, evaluation specialists, product teams and client-facing stakeholders in a fast-moving delivery environment.

Nice to Haveย

  • Experience with an AI agent platform, generative AI application, workflow automation platform or low-code/no-code development environment.
  • Experience configuring prompts, tools, retrieval sources, agent instructions, workflow orchestration, human-in-the-loop steps or AI safety controls.
  • Familiarity with Git, CI/CD processes, API testing tools, scripting, etc.
  • Experience with evaluation, monitoring or observability tools used to assess AI output quality and workflow reliability.
  • Experience delivering enterprise technology solutions in banking, financial services or another regulated environment.
  • Experience creating reusable templates, configuration standards, implementation playbooks or platform enablement materials.

Additional Job Detailsย

  • Expected Salary Range: $78,000 - $115,000; we hire into multiple career levels for this role based on a candidate's experience, skills and demonstrated capabilities.
  • Vacancy Status: Open position(s) to be filled
  • Mode of Work: Hybrid
  • Use of AI: Zafin may use Artificial Intelligence (AI) and/or other forms of automated technology to screen and/or assess applicants for this position. Zafin will not utilize AI for conducting interviews and/or making hiring decisions.
