Description:

Day Shift: Monday - Thursday, 7:00 AM - 6:00 PM, 1-hour lunch. $14/hr.

Night Shift: Monday - Thursday, 5:30 PM - 4:30 AM, 1-hour lunch. $15/hr. 


Job Summary:

Assist in the operation of the packaging machines, loading product and supplies into the machine and receiving packages as produced by the machine and loading the packages into cases for storage.  

Perform safety and cleaning procedures as required. 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Loading product into the machines for processing. 
  • Assist in verifying weights of raw product used in the packaging process. 
  • Assist in verifying ingredients loaded into the packaging machines matches the ingredients on the production work order and on the bags loaded into the packing machines. 
  • Assist in obtaining packaging material and loading machine with film, ensuring film is proper for the product being produced. 
  • Observing the machine during production to make sure that the product is being processing through the machine effectively and efficiently, and notifying the machine operator of any issues observed. 
  • Assist with the production process to make sure that there is minimal waste/loss of product during the production process. 
  • Notifying the machine operator or production manager if there is any indication the product does not meet the production quality or safety standards. 
  • Notifying the machine operator or production manager of any issues noticed with the production equipment. 
  • Receiving packages as produced by the machine and loading the packages into cases. 
  • Ensuring the proper number of packages is in each case and sealing the cases. 
  • Palletizing the cases as instructed by the line operator. 
  • Assist with counting the number of cases produced. 
  • Assisting with equipment and facility maintenance, including assisting with the cleaning of machines, machine components, cleaning floors, sinks, etc., as required. 
  • All staff must report any known food safety issues to supervisor.  
  • All staff has the authority to place on hold any products and/or equipment that do not meet Texas Star Nut and Food Co., Inc. food safety standards.  
  • Follow prescribed safety and cleanliness procedures and perform duties as required, maintaining personal hygiene and following all individual safety requirements (hand washing, required clothing, hair nets, etc.). 
  • Other duties as assigned. 



Requirements:

 Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be punctual and dependable. 
  • Must be able to work with other personnel in a team environment and take direction from supervisors. 
  • Must be able to comply with all safety and cleanliness requirements. 

Abilities Required:

  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. 
  • Ability to climb ladders/steps and work on platforms. 
  • Ability to work on machinery, handle small tools and assembling/disassembling machinery.
