Job description

We are seeking experienced Order Selectors to support distribution center operations at the Bellevue Milk Plant. This role requires selecting and palletizing dairy and refrigerated products using voice-directed technology and a ride-on electric pallet jack in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
Candidates should be comfortable performing physical work throughout the shift while working in refrigerated conditions.
Key Responsibilities
  • Use a voice-directed order selection system to accurately select full-case dairy, refrigerated, and other perishable products.
  • Operate a ride-on electric pallet jack to pick and transport products throughout the warehouse.
  • Wear a voice-picking headset for the duration of the shift.
  • Build stable pallets and prepare orders for shipment to local stores.
  • Ensure orders are selected accurately and efficiently while maintaining productivity standards.
  • Follow all company safety, food safety, sanitation, and quality procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Work effectively with supervisors, team members, and drivers to support daily operations.
Required Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States for an indefinite duration without limitations.
  • Minimum of 1 year of recent order selecting experience required.
  • Previous experience operating an electric pallet jack required.
  • Must be able to obtain Safeway certification to operate electric pallet jacks and other material-handling equipment.
  • Ability to read, write, understand, and communicate effectively in English to perform the essential functions of the role, including:
    • Following safety procedures and training instructions
    • Understanding verbal and written work instructions
    • Using voice-directed picking technology
    • Communicating effectively with supervisors, coworkers, and truck drivers
  • Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, and consistent attendance.

Physical Requirements
Candidates must be fully capable of performing the physical demands of this position.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, stack, and move products weighing up to 50 lbs throughout the shift.
  • Ability to frequently lift products to shoulder height and overhead.
  • Ability to stand and walk continuously for extended periods.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, squat, reach, twist, and perform repetitive motions throughout the shift.
  • Ability to safely mount, dismount, and operate material-handling equipment.
  • Ability to perform physical labor in a refrigerated environment for the entire shift.

Work Environment
  • Must be comfortable working in a refrigerated environment maintained at approximately 34°F - 37°F for the duration of the shift.

  • Ability to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as business needs require.
  • Must comply with all safety requirements and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
