Job description

Job Summary:
Paint Helper assists a lead painter by performing prep work and cleanup needed to complete refinish repair work on cars, trucks, and other motor vehicles, with a focus on quality, timeliness and safety.
Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Assist in planning of refinish work needed according to specifications
  • Tape, sand, and prep
  • Mixes and matches paint according to specifications
  • Utilizing polishing and buffing tools and materials, smooth the surfaces of the products to be painted
  • Sanding, masking, unmasking, finish painting, seal and touch up. Must be familiar with paint equipment and must be able to adjust equipment to obtain the desired spray patterns
  • Comply with all TCC's safety standards, guidelines and procedures
  • Perform other related duties as assigned relating to, but not limited to washing cars, cleaning the shop, etc..

Requirements:
  • Exceptional refinish skills.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Must comply with all safety requirements, respirator safety and fit test
  • Proficient with paint equipment and paint mixing software
  • Ability to read service and repair manuals.
  • Ability to perform refinish work in a timely fashion
  • Ability to read and interpret repair orders
  • Must be 18 years or older
Education and Experience:
  • I-CAR certified preferred
  • 1 year of related experience.
Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to work safely in a noisy area with many odors present.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs. regularly.
  • Must be able to inspect vehicle to determine repairs needed.
  • Good vision to inspect repair work.
  • Must be able to bend, stretch, kneel, and squat to perform repairs and inspections.
  • Must be able to reach below and above shoulder level
