Job description

OVERALL GOALS
• Safely drive company pick-up truck with trailer to collect old carpet from retailers/customers.
• Efficient off-loading of carpet and pad materials.
• Accurate and efficient sortation by fiber type.
• Follow all safety rules for the facility.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Assist installers as they drop off carpet and pad for recycling.
• Accurately use fiber ID guns to sort carpet by fiber type.
• Operate baler safely and efficiently to create carpet and padding bales.
• Operate fork-lift to move material around the yard and onto trucks for shipping.
• Safely drive truck and haul trailers of carpet and pad.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS & ABILITY
• To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:
• Customer service—greet and assist installer customers as they arrive to drop off material.
• Dependability—keep up with the variety of volume and demands throughout the day.
• Versatility – able to fill a number of different roles.
• Safety and security—observes safety and security procedures and uses equipment and materials properly. Ability to read and interpret safety rules and instructions which are posted in English and Spanish.
• Communication - effectively and professionally conveys information internally and externally through verbal and written communication skills.
• Safe and competent driver who can navigate a pickup with a trailer attached.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
•     1-3 years of experience working in a warehouse setting.
•     Working knowledge of light machinery operation.
•     Experience pulling trailers.
•     Able to navigate a pickup and trailer combination
•     Valid Driver’s License with safe driving history.
