Job Duties for Tile Installation Technician:

  • Prepare and repair surfaces by cleaning, leveling, and fixing subfloors or walls
  • Read blueprints and layout plans to determine measurements, tile patterns, and material needs
  • Measure and cut tile accurately with wet saws, cutters, and hand tools
  • Apply mortar, mastic, or adhesive evenly with the proper tools
  • Install and align ceramic, porcelain, stone, and marble tile on floors, walls, showers, and backsplashes
  • Grout joints, remove excess material, and apply sealants for moisture protection
  • Keep the work area clean, safe, and in line with company safety standards
  • Follow all policies and safety procedures in place
  • Completes any other related tasks as needed

Qualifications and Desired Skills for Tile Installation Technician:

  • High school diploma or equivalent, or completion of a relevant apprenticeship program is preferred but not required
  • No experience required
  • Proficiency with trade tools including wet saws, cutters, trowels, spacers, and levels
  • Basic math skills for measuring and estimating materials
  • Ability to read blueprints
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work on your feet for extended periods
