Job Title: Stone and Tile Fabricator


Location: BASILE INC, San Diego, CA, US

Position Type: Full-Time


Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Stone and Tile Fabricator to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong skills in fabricating stone and tile materials, including measuring, cutting, grinding, sanding, edge routing, and shaping. This role requires a keen eye for detail, a strong understanding of blueprints, and proficiency in working with various types of stone and tile materials. The candidate must also have experience in epoxy finishing, sealing, and maintaining a high standard of safety while working.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret blueprints and design drawings to accurately fabricate and shape stone and tile pieces.
  • Measure and cut stone and tile materials to precise specifications using various tools and equipment.
  • Grind, sand, and shape edges of stone and tile for a smooth and finished appearance.
  • Perform edge routing and shaping of materials to achieve custom designs.
  • Apply epoxy finishes and sealers to materials to ensure a long-lasting, professional finish.
  • Maintain high safety standards while working with power tools, machinery, and heavy materials.
  • Operate a forklift to safely transport materials to and from the fabrication area.
  • Ensure all projects meet quality standards and customer specifications.
  • Keep the work area clean, organized, and in compliance with safety protocols.
  • Adhere to scheduled break and lunch times, ensuring timely return to work to maintain productivity and operational efficiency.


Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in stone and tile fabrication, including cutting, grinding, sanding, and shaping.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Experience with epoxy finishes, sealing, and polishing.
  • Strong knowledge of stone and tile materials, including various types of natural stone and ceramic.
  • Forklift certification and experience operating a forklift safely.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality work.
  • Strong focus on safety, with a proven ability to follow safety guidelines and protocols.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Physical stamina and strength to lift heavy materials and operate machinery.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a fabrication or construction environment.
  • Certification in relevant safety courses or stone/tile fabrication.
  • Familiarity with CNC machinery or other advanced fabrication tools.


Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry heavy materials (up to 50 pounds).
  • Standing for long periods during work processes.
  • Ability to work in a workshop environment with exposure to dust, noise, and other typical woodworking conditions.
