Philadelphia Commercial isseekinga creative, collaborative, and strategically minded Carpet Designer to join our Product Design team. This roleis responsible fordeveloping innovative soft surface flooring solutions that strengthen our commercial product portfolio and support long-term brand strategy. Reporting to the Philadelphia Commercial Design Director, the designer will research market trends,identifycustomer needs, and translate insights into compelling flooring concepts frominitialideation through commercialization. The position works closely with cross-functional teams including Marketing, Product Development, Innovation, Manufacturing, and global vendor partners to deliver products that meet performance, aesthetic, and businessobjectives.This role offers an exciting opportunity for a designer to contributeinproduct development and commercial flooring innovation.This role will work in a hybrid way approximately four days a week in our Dalton, GA office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop innovative soft surface flooring concepts aligned with Philadelphia Commercial's brand strategy and multi-year product roadmap.

  • Create product visuals, color palettes, and pattern concepts frominitialinspiration through manufacturing and product launch.

  • Apply market research, customer insights, and emerging design trends to develop commercially relevant flooring solutions.

  • Collaborate Manufacturing, Marketing, Innovation, Product Development, and Sales to ensure design intent ismaintainedthroughout product development and production, resulting in the successful launch of new products.

  • Supportdevelopmentof marketing materials, customer presentations, product photography, and merchandising tools.

  • Present product concepts and design to internal leadership, customers, sales teams, and external partners.

  • Participate in customer tours, VOC sessions, focus groups, NeoCon, and other industry events to gather insights andvalidateproduct direction.

  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting development milestones and launch schedules.

  • Demonstrate sound judgment, adaptability, and the ability to navigate changing priorities in a fast-paced development environment.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Industrial Design, Textile Design, Product Design, ora relateddesign discipline.

  • 2-5+ years of professional design experience.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of commercialflooring,manufacturing processes, tufting construction methods, pre-dyed yarn development, dyeing techniques, and pattern development.

  • Ability toleverageexpertiseto develop innovative product concepts, patterns, and color solutions that meet the needs of the commercial flooring market.

  • Strong organizational, project management, and communication skills.

  • Ability to translate design trends and customer insights into commercially successful products.

  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across multiple departments and global partners.

Hightly Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience with Main Street commercial flooring markets

  • Proven ability to independently lead productdevelopment from conceptthrough manufacturing while mentoring others, influencing cross-functional teams, and driving strategic product initiatives.

  • Experience withNedGraphicsTexcelle,AdobePhotoshop,or similar textile design software
