Job Description:
Join Purdue University Fort Wayne:
We are currently seeking a full-time, on-site, Custodian in our Building Services department. This position maintains and performs custodial duties within assigned university building area(s). The pay for this position is $15/hr.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Provide daily general cleaning duties in assigned area that includes - classrooms, offices, labs, restrooms, stairwells, and hallways.
  • Trash removal.
  • Floor care - sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, stripping and refinishing floors, carpet cleaning
  • Assist with special event set-up and removal of tables and chairs.
  • Ensure adequate supplies are in stock.
  • Perform routine facility and equipment inspections and inform supervisor of needed repairs.

Required Qualifications:
  • A High School Diploma or GED.
  • Ability to operate commercial floor care equipment and climb ladders.
  • Move, lift, carry, push and pull 10 to 25 pounds frequently and up to 40 pounds occasionally.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of commercial cleaning methods, materials and equipment.
