Keep properties safe, functional, and well-maintained for residents, families, and community partners.

American HomeStays LLC is seeking a reliable and skilledHandyman to perform repair, maintenance, and improvement work across residential and commercial properties in the Baltimore area.

This role is ideal for a hands-on maintenance professional with experience in general repairs, basic electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, painting, flooring, fixture repair, and property upkeep. The Handyman will help ensure assigned properties remain safe, clean, functional, and ready for residents, clients, and company operations.


Key Responsibilities

General Repairs and Maintenance

  • Perform general repair and maintenance tasks across residential, commercial, and property service settings.
  • Troubleshoot and repair doors, windows, locks, fixtures, drywall, tile, flooring, and other property features.
  • Assist with basic electrical, plumbing, HVAC, mechanical, carpentry, and painting tasks within skill level and safety standards.
  • Install and assemble furniture, shelving, appliances, hardware, and other property items.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests from clients, tenants, property managers, and supervisors.

Property Readiness and Safety

  • Conduct routine inspections to identify maintenance needs, safety concerns, or repair priorities.
  • Ensure work is completed safely, professionally, and in accordance with company standards.
  • Assist with snow removal, landscaping, seasonal tasks, and urgent property needs as assigned.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, ladders, PPE, and maintenance equipment safely and effectively.
  • Support a clean, safe, and well-maintained environment across assigned properties.

Documentation and Communication

  • Keep accurate records of work performed, materials used, time spent, and follow-up needs.
  • Communicate professionally with clients, tenants, property managers, vendors, and team members.
  • Report unresolved maintenance issues, safety risks, supply needs, or larger repair concerns to the supervisor.
  • Support quality assurance, inspections, audits, and maintenance improvement activities as assigned.


Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Vocational training, trade certification, or maintenance-related coursework preferred.
  • Proven experience as a handyman, maintenance technician, or similar maintenance role required.
  • Experience in residential housing, property management, furnished accommodations, facilities, or commercial maintenance preferred.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
  • Ability to pass background checks and drug screenings required.

Work Requirements
