    Rehoboth Beach Country Club is looking for a skilled and dependable Facilities Mechanic to join our Club Maintenance team. This full-time position plays an important role in keeping our Club’s buildings, mechanical systems, equipment, and facilities safe, functional, and operating at their best.


    The ideal candidate is a hands-on problem solver who takes pride in quality workmanship, responds well to changing priorities, and enjoys working in a team-oriented environment. This position offers the opportunity to work across a variety of maintenance trades while contributing directly to an exceptional experience for our members, guests, and staff.


    Schedule: Full-Time | Weekend, evening, holiday, and on-call availability required
    Pay: Starting at $23 per hour
    FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt
    Reports to: Facilities Manager


    What You’ll Do
    • Perform general maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs across multiple trades, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, refrigeration, appliances, ventilation, carpentry, painting, and building systems.
    • Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance to keep equipment and mechanical systems operating safely and efficiently.
    • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and work orders, prioritizing tasks based on safety and operational needs.
    • Conduct daily walkthroughs of Club facilities to identify maintenance needs, safety concerns, and potential operational issues.
    • Troubleshoot and repair common plumbing issues, including leaking pipes and faucets and clogged drains.
    • Complete carpentry, painting, minor electrical repairs, and other general maintenance projects as needed.
    • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe maintenance shop, workshop, and storage areas.
    • Identify and address potential safety hazards to help prevent injuries and property damage.
    • Follow OSHA standards and all Club safety procedures, including proper PPE use, ladder safety, lockout/tagout procedures, and chemical handling.
    • Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance activities, and preventative maintenance.
    • Monitor work performed by outside contractors and communicate project updates to the Facilities Manager.
    • Assist with setup and breakdown for tournaments, special events, and Club functions.
    • Assist with the proper removal of refuse and recycling from Club facilities as needed.
    • Interact professionally and courteously with members, guests, and fellow employees at all times.
    What We’re Looking For

    Education & Experience

    • High school diploma or equivalent required.
    • Trade school certification or related training preferred.
    • 3–5 years of experience in building maintenance, facilities maintenance, or a related skilled trade preferred.
    • Experience working in a hospitality, resort, hotel, country club, or similar environment is a plus.

    Skills & Abilities

    • Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and general building maintenance.
    • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
    • Ability to read and follow equipment manuals, blueprints, schematics, and written instructions.
    • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and building automation systems.
    • Ability to prioritize multiple work orders and respond calmly and effectively to urgent maintenance issues.
    • Self-motivated, dependable, organized, and detail-oriented.
    • Professional appearance and demeanor appropriate for a private club environment.
    • Ability to communicate and work respectfully with members, guests, and staff.
    • Commitment to maintaining the confidentiality of Club operations and member information.

    Physical & Working Conditions

    This position requires the ability to work both indoors and outdoors and in a variety of weather conditions, including heat, cold, humidity, and rain. The Facilities Mechanic may be exposed to noise, mechanical equipment, chemicals, and other maintenance-related materials.


    The position requires frequent standing, walking, climbing, kneeling, bending, reaching, and working in confined spaces. The ability to safely work from ladders and lifts and regularly lift and carry up to 50 pounds is required. Extended shifts of approximately 5–13 hours may be required based on Club operations.


    Schedule Requirements

    This is a full-time position with a schedule based on Club operations. Candidates must be available to work:

    • Weekends
    • Evenings
    • Holidays
    • Extended hours when needed
    • On-call shifts, as required

    Overtime may be required during periods of increased Club activity or as operational needs dictate.
