Carpenter, Handyman & Remodeling Apprentice
A Team Home Services - Hutto, TX
Pay: $20-$26/hour, based on experience and demonstrated skill
Job Type: Full-time
Schedule: Monday-Friday | No weekends | No on-call or emergency work
Job Summary
A Team Home Services is looking for a dependable and motivated Carpenter, Handyman & Remodeling Apprentice to join our growing team.
This is a hands-on opportunity for someone with basic construction, carpentry, remodeling, maintenance, or residential repair experience who wants to build a long-term career in the skilled trades.
You'll work alongside experienced technicians and installers while gaining practical experience across a variety of residential projects throughout the Greater Austin area. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, dependable, detail-oriented, eager to learn, and takes pride in quality workmanship and professional customer service.
Responsibilities
  • Assist with residential remodeling projects, including kitchens, bathrooms, flooring, and general renovations
  • Support demolition, material preparation, installation, and finish work
  • Assist with carpentry projects including framing, trim, doors, cabinetry, shelving, and wood repairs
  • Install or assist with vanities, cabinets, flooring, fixtures, hardware, appliances, and other residential components
  • Perform basic drywall repairs, patching, tape and float, painting, and finish work
  • Assist with general home maintenance and repair projects
  • Learn basic plumbing fixture installation and minor electrical fixture replacement under appropriate supervision
  • Measure, cut, and assemble materials using hand and power tools
  • Load, unload, transport, and organize tools and materials
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe jobsites
  • Follow project scopes, layouts, safety procedures, and company quality standards
  • Maintain and properly care for tools and equipment
  • Communicate professionally with homeowners, coworkers, and supervisors
  • Continue developing technical skills through hands-on training and mentorship
Qualifications
Required
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
  • Basic knowledge of hand and power tools
  • Ability to read a tape measure and perform basic math
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Professional demeanor when working in occupied residential homes
  • Ability to lift at least 55 pounds
