Evergreen Construction Services

Lead Carpenter/Carpenter Foreman

Location: Barrington and Milton, NH, with projects throughout Southern New Hampshire and Southern Maine

Lead With Craftsmanship. Build With Purpose.

Evergreen Construction Services is a veteran-owned construction company specializing in custom carpentry, additions, remodels, historic colonial home restoration, and repair. We work on unique homes throughout Southern NH and Southern Maine, where no two projects are exactly the same. Our team values craftsmanship, professionalism, teamwork, and the ability to solve problems with pride and precision.

Evergreen Construction Services is looking for an experienced Lead Carpenter/Carpenter Foreman to join our growing team. This role is ideal for someone with strong frame-to-finish carpentry experience who can work independently, lead others on the job site, and help maintain high standards of quality and professionalism. The right candidate will be dependable, coachable, detail-oriented, and capable of helping less experienced team members grow while keeping projects moving forward.

  • Lead small crews or less experienced team members on assigned job site tasks
  • Read job site needs, anticipate next steps, and complete work with minimal supervision
  • Assist with framing, finish carpentry, demo, material handling, cleanup, and project preparation
  • Maintain a clean, organized, safe, and professional job site
  • Communicate respectfully with clients, coworkers, subcontractors, and company leadership
  • Solve field challenges efficiently, especially on older and historic homes
  • Help mentor developing team members and support a team-first work environment
  • Represent Evergreen Construction Services with professionalism in clients' homes

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of frame-to-finish carpentry or residential construction experience preferred
  • Ability to work independently and lead others when needed
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think ahead on a job site
  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to follow company standards
  • Strong communication, time-management, and organizational skills
  • Comfortable working indoors, outdoors, in all seasons, and at heights
  • Willing to pitch in on all aspects of a project, including demo, materials, cleanup, and support tasks
  • Must be able to reliably report to assigned job sites throughout Southern New Hampshire and Southern Maine.
  • Valid driver's license and vehicle are required
  • Personal hand tools are preferred; company-provided tools and equipment are available as needed.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, work at heights, operate hand and power tools, and perform physical work throughout the day.

Pay and Benefits

  • Full-time, W-2 Employment
  • Pay: $25.00-$55.00 per hour, depending on experience, carpentry skill level, leadership responsibilities, and project management capabilities.
  • On-the-job training
  • Professional development assistance
  • Growth opportunities within the company
  • Supportive, respectful, team-oriented work environment
  • Typical schedule is Monday-Friday, with occasional overtime depending on project schedules and weather conditions.
