The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled, resourceful, and hands-on Maintenance Technician to support the daily operational integrity of a premier regional shopping destination. In this full-time, non-exempt role, you will work closely with the Senior Operations Manager to execute advanced repairs, diagnose mechanical anomalies, and manage preventive maintenance programs across all core building systems. If you have at least five years of solid facilities experience, master-level multi-trade skills, and a high degree of personal accountability, we want you on our property operations team.


What You'll Do

1. Advanced Technical Maintenance & Systems Repair

  • Mechanical & HVAC: Diagnose, repair, and maintain sophisticated mechanical machinery, including heating and cooling units, hot water boilers, make-up units, and booster pumps.
  • Diagnostics: Systematically troubleshoot equipment failures; disassemble units, clean, lubricate, repair, and replace parts (including routine filter management).
  • Structural & Carpentry: Execute routine-to-difficult carpentry tasks, including door installations, repairing jambs, moldings, hinges, door closers, commercial locks, knobs, shelving, and acoustic ceiling tile/grid systems.

2. Core Utilities & Finishes Upkeep

  • Plumbing Operations: Inspect, install, troubleshoot, and replace commercial piping, fittings, and fixtures; clear line blockages in sinks and toilets, rebuild faucets, and replace washers.
  • Electrical Systems: Inspect and test localized wiring, lighting configurations, and power circuits; replace faulty switches, commercial lamps, and ballasts safely.
  • Aesthetic Preservation: Perform routine-to-difficult painting and finish duties, including meticulous drywall and plaster structural repairs.

3. Preventive Maintenance & Tenant Turnovers

  • Framework Execution: Support the development and daily execution of comprehensive preventive maintenance schedules across all infrastructure (electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry).
  • Proactive Auditing: Conduct regular facility and equipment walkthroughs to catch and resolve system vulnerabilities before they impact operations.
  • Make-Readies: Perform efficient turnover duties in vacant units, preparing them swiftly and to standard for incoming tenants.

What You Bring to the Table

Education & Experience

  • Foundational Background: High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) is required.
  • Proven Tenure: A minimum of five (5) years of progressive, hands-on commercial facilities maintenance experience.
  • Licensure: A valid driver's license is mandatory.

Technical Mastery & Certifications

  • Trade Expertise: Exceptional proficiency executing repairs across commercial electrical distribution, plumbing networks, mechanical HVAC systems, structural carpentry, and drywall/paint finishes.
  • Preferred Credentials: Active trade certifications in HVAC, Electrical, or Plumbing are highly valued.

Physical & Personal Attributes

  • Stamina & Strength: Ability to safely lift and move up to 75 pounds independently and execute physically demanding tasks for extended intervals across indoor and outdoor conditions.
  • Core Competencies: Self-motivated team player with strong organizational, project management, and verbal/written communication skills. High attention to detail and a proactive approach to work.
