CROSSEXPERIENCED JOURNEYMAN CARPENTER - 8+ years


Schedule: Monday- Friday, 7:30 AM 4:00 PM

Reports To: Production Manager - Design Build

Compensation: Competitive salary based on experience


Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Journeyman Carpenter to join the CROSS Custom Division. The ideal candidate brings advanced carpentry expertise with a commitment to mentoring others in the trade. This role requires overseeing large-scale custom carpentry projects, coordinating with contractors and tradespeople, and ensuring work meets the highest standards of craftsmanship and safety.


Key Responsibilities

Project Oversight in partnership with the Project Manager

  • Coordinate daily tasks and timelines with contractors, tradespeople, and Project Managers.
  • Ensure adherence to project blueprints, engineering plans, and specifications.

Advanced Carpentry & Woodworking

  • Perform expert-level framing, structural carpentry, and cabinetry installation.
  • Execute detailed decorative trim work, including stair railings, crown molding, and custom millwork.
  • Build and install doors, windows, staircases, decks, and railings with precision.

Safety & Standards

  • Promote and enforce jobsite safety practices.
  • Maintain compliance with CROSS's core values and company-wide standards.
  • Review daily job logs, track project progress, and submit material lists.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum of 8 years of professional carpentry experience, with proven expertise in both residential and custom carpentry.
  • Blueprints & Plans: Demonstrated ability to read, interpret, and execute from blueprints and engineering documents.
  • Leadership: Previous experience leading carpentry teams on large-scale projects.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Cabinetry and millwork installation.
  • Structural framing and advanced woodworking.
  • Decorative trim and custom finishes.
  • Proficiency in tool and material terminology.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 80+ lbs, work outdoors in varied conditions, and perform tasks requiring climbing, kneeling, crouching, and balancing.
