About the Role
 
We’re looking for a skilled Journeyperson Carpenter to join the Rockport Commercial team! As a Journeyman Carpenter you will take responsibility in bringing strong craftsmanship, reliability, and a strong eye for detail, working on various residential and commercial projects. This is a great opportunity for someone who takes pride in quality work, enjoys problem-solving on site, and values working with a team that supports safety and getting the job done right.
  
  
Key Responsibilities
 
  • Execute framing layouts independently for multi-family residential structures.
  • Construct fire-rated assemblies in strict compliance with safety regulations.
  • Supervise and mentor carpenter apprentices, helping them build their skills while maintaining productivity and quality on site.
  • Read and interpret blueprints to accurately plan and complete projects.
  • Maintain high-quality workmanship standards across all phases of construction.
  • Enforce rigorous safety compliance across all assigned work areas.
  • Ensure all work is completed in compliance with building codes, site plans, and safety requirements.
  • Report daily site progress accurately to project management teams.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, and properly care for tools and equipment.
  • Collaborate with other trades to keep projects moving efficiently and on schedule.
 
What You’ll Need
  • Journeyperson Certificate is mandatory and proof of certification will be required if selected. 
  • Experience reading blueprints, layouts, and construction drawings, with a strong understanding of building codes and site safety requirements.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced construction environment.
  • A valid class 5 license and vehicle.
