Job description

Our Opportunity: Ingredient Control Coordinator

Status: Full-time Day Shift

Hours: 8:00AM - 4:00PM

Schedule: Monday - Friday


Position Summary:
The Ingredient Control Coordinator primarily manages the scheduling of ingredient deliveries and holds primary responsibility for verifying and aligning physical and systematic inventory of all ingredients.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Communicates with customers and vendors to schedule specific appointment times for 80+ deliveries per month
    • Holds customers and vendors accountable to deliver per agreed upon appointments and maintains related KPIs
    • Maintain and coordinate the inbound delivery log verification against scheduled deliveries
    • Drives a forklift in order to pull inventory for physical verification as well as maintain organization according to FEFO/customer/item
    • Holds primary responsibility for cycle counting of ingredients at all locations
    • Adjusts inventory using SAP/Data Collection in order to align physical to book
    • Maintains awareness of production schedule and appoints deliveries to arrive at optimal timing in accordance with an appropriate balance availability for production and minimizing unnecessary overstock
    • Investigates discrepancies in ingredient inventory to not only correct inventory, but to perform root cause investigation and explain why inventory requires adjustment
    • Maintains ingredient bin integrity
    • Tracks, compiles, and publishes KPIโ€™s for ingredient inventory
    • Maintains and adjusts inventory in SAP and additional Customer portals, as needed
    • Partake in general warehouse upkeep tasks (removal of broken pallets, cleaning ingredient spills, etc.)
    • Maintain organization of raw ingredients according to the F.E.F.O principle
    • Help to ensure all ingredients are stored according to their manufacturer label requirements, special Customer storage requirements (ex. temperature), and allergen handling requirements
    • Manages โ€œOn Holdโ€ and expiring ingredients physically and systematically, regularly analyzing the 30/60/90-day expiration reports to minimize the impact of ingredient loss and avoid the accidental use of on-hold ingredients
    • Coordinate the collection and shipment of ingredient sampling
    • Communicate internally and with Customer representatives to coordinate disposition of held nonconforming ingredients and execute the proper destruction of ingredients as necessary
    • Create Certificates of Destruction for ingredients that were destroyed under the authority of the owner of the ingredient and provide to the Customer once completed
    • Coordinate outbound ingredient shipments upon the occasional request
    • Maintain a safe and sanitary work environment according to SOPโ€™s & GMPโ€™s
    • Transport ingredient pallets via double forklift, including stacking up to 4 high in ambient, refrigerated, and frozen storage spaces
    • Other duties may be assigned

Position Requirements:

    • High school diploma or equivalent combination of related experience and training required.
    • Minimum of two years of experience in a similar role or relevant training preferred.
    • Forklift experience required; SAP experience preferred.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
    • Ability to read, write, and speak English.
    • Strong math, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
    • Ability to adapt to changes in the work environment and effectively apply the technical skills necessary to perform essential job duties.
    • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively as part of a team.
    • Professional demeanor with a commitment to teamwork, ethical conduct, and positive working relationships.
    • Commitment to promoting the company's Mission Statement and maintaining the highest standards of food safety and quality.
    • Willingness to follow direction, identify opportunities for improvement, and contribute ideas to enhance the work environment.

Work Environment and Physical Demands:

    • Ability to regularly stand, walk, use hands with dexterity, reach with hands and arms, and communicate effectively.
    • Ability to regularly lift and/or move moderate weights and occasionally lift and/or move heavy weights.
    • Ability to meet the visual demands of the position, including distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
    • Ability to work in walk-in cooler and freezer environments and tolerate varying seasonal temperatures within a warehouse setting.
    • Ability to work around industrial forklifts and occasional exposure to fumes, airborne particles, and flammable or corrosive ingredients.
    • Ability to work effectively in an environment with occasional loud noise levels.
