Job Description
This position performs professional nursing duties as assigned in a 10 bed, 48-hour behavioral health care unit. This Registered Nurse (RN) must possess strong knowledge of the principals, methods, and practices of working with individuals with psychiatric and mental health and or medical concerns. Responsibilities include nursing triage and assessment upon admission, medication administration and monitoring, education regarding diagnosis, providing RN delegation and training to support staff within the center. The RN will assess and complete nursing care plans and will communicate findings with the treatment team. This RN must have the ability to communicate effectively with diverse cultures and socio-economic populations. Tasks and documentation of services are provided in accordance with accepted legal and ethical nursing standards. This RN will work a 12-hour day shift with rotating weekends and ability to create your own block schedule The RN will be directed/supervised by the Director of Nursing for clinical matters such as, but not limited to medications, pharmacy, injections, genetic testing, phlebotomy/laboratory matters and clinical assessments. The RN will be directed/supervised by the Center Director for administrative matters such as, but not limited to requesting time off, scheduling and office flow. Personnel concerns will be addressed in coordination by both the Director of Residential Nursing and the Center Director.

Hourly Salary Range: $56.41 - $68.66
Differential Detail:
  • 1.00/hour - Psych Certification
  • .75/hour - Bilingual
  • Up to 3.50/hour - Previous crisis experience
  • Up to 2.00/hour - Previous community center experience
  • Up to 5.00/hour - tenure with BTCS

Shift Differentials:
  • $2.00/hour Evening
  • $4.00/hour Overnight
  • $4.00/hour Weekends
  • $6.00/hour Overnight Weekends
City Round Rock, TX County Williamson County Credentials Minimum Qualifications:
Graduated from an accredited school of nursing and licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of Texas with at least 2-year recent nursing experience in behavioral health and or substance use nursing.
Experience can be in any inpatient, outpatient, or residential treatment type setting.
Ability to work collaboratively and be part of a multidisciplinary professional team.
Computer literate with working knowledge of Windows/MS office applications.
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Must have a valid Texas Driver's License and maintain approved driver's status throughout employment.
Preferred Qualifications:
ANCC Psychiatric/Mental Health Certification or CARN certification.
Experience working with individuals with behavioral health, developmental disabilities, substance use disorders, ER or primary care.
Bilingual in Spanish.
