What are Caribbean Islands?

The Caribbean Islands are a group of more than 700 islands, islets, reefs, and cays located in the Caribbean Sea, southeast of the Gulf of Mexico and North America, east of Central America, and north of South America. These islands are known for their beautiful beaches, tropical climate, and vibrant cultures, attracting millions of tourists each year. The region is divided into several island groups, including the Greater Antilles, Lesser Antilles, and the Bahamas. Many of the islands are independent countries, while others are territories of other nations.

Jobs on the Caribbean islands focus on hospitality, tourism, and support positions. In one of these jobs, you may take tourists on tours, teach activities like snorkeling and surfing, work on a charter boat taking people around the area, or support the daily operations of hotels. Outside of the tourism and hospitality industry, the Caribbean islands have fully-functioning economies that require cooks, transporters, repairers, doctors, and many other positions. Most of these jobs are taken by locals, so if you are not already in the Caribbean, you may need to start in a different role and establish a presence there. Most Caribbean jobs require living in the area, though a few—such as Caribbean-focused pilots—can live elsewhere.
