Job description

General Purpose of Job:
This position is responsible for arranging the warehouse, handling equipment, load/unload air cargo, and customer satisfaction by accurately and safely receiving/storing inbound and outbound shipments.
Duties:
  • Receives cargo/mail from and releases cargo to consignors, consignees, brokers, agents, truckers, etc., including checking for damage/tampering, counting, receipting, and loading and unloading cargo.
  • Check freight for proper piece count, weight, dimensions and documents as appropriate when accepting or delivering cargo
  • Issue appropriate warehouse receipt or collect signed copy of delivery receipt
  • Performs daily equipment preventive maintenance and safety checks.
  • Operate basic cargo handling equipment such as forklift, aircraft pallets and pallet jacks
  • Maintains a neat and orderly office and warehouse area, including the removal of snow and ice from walkways and truck docks.
    Maintain work area in clean condition, reporting damaged or broken equipment as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Must have valid Driver's licenseMust be willing to work outside in all types of weather and elevated noise levels within the airport environment
  • Must be able to lift 50+lbs on a regular basis
  • Ability to work efficiently under time constraints
  • Must be available to work varied hours including swing and graveyard shifts plus weekends and holidays
  • Must be willing to obtain airport security clearance
  • Must have authorization to work in the U.S.

Must have sufficient vision and ability to safely perform the essential functions of the position.
Work Environment:
Airport environment: Indoors and Outdoors. Extreme outdoor conditions where extreme temperature ranges may be encountered.
