As a Screener at Alliance Ground International (AGI), you will play a vital role in ensuring export cargo is screened in compliance with TSA regulations, airline requirements, and company policies.

Alliance Ground International (AGI) is one of the largest independently owned ground handling companies providing services to over 100 airlines in 62 airports across the U.S. and Canada. We are the home to over 12,000 team members supporting over 1.5 billion kilos of cargo and over 400,000 departures annually. Our Ground division has a strong reputation in aviation services. Job responsibilities:

  • Identify and stop prohibited items in cargo from transport to ensure compliance with TSA and airline regulations.

  • Verify that cargo documents are accurately declared and match the physical piece count and contents.

  • Conduct screening using a variety of methods, including physical search, ETD (Explosives Trace Detection), and X-ray.

  • Prepare and maintain required reports, forms, and records as mandated by TSA regulations and company procedures.

  • Report any suspicious items, activities, or irregularities to management to determine the appropriate course of action.

  • Operate and maintain security screening equipment, ensuring all tools are functioning correctly.

  • Collaborate with warehouse and cargo operations teams to ensure smooth handling and timely processing of screened cargo.

  • Stay updated on TSA policies and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.

Safety, Security and Compliance:

All AGI team members have a responsibility and duty while at work to:

  • Take reasonable care for the health, wellbeing, safety, and security of themselves and of others who may be affected by their actions or omissions while at work.

  • Cooperate with their manager/supervisor to ensure compliance with any legal requirements imposed on the company.

  • Report any hazards, near misses, incidents, accidents, or dangerous occurrences to their manager/supervisor, who will then follow the procedures outlined in company policies.

  • Carry out work in accordance with information and training provided and any specific safety or security rules or procedures.

  • Fully understand AGI's Health, Safety, and Security policies.

  • Attend training courses as required by AGI.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods while conducting screening procedures.

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

  • Manual dexterity to handle screening equipment and perform physical inspections.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.

  • Flexibility to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Knowledge of TSA regulations and screening procedures.

  • Proficiency in using security screening equipment, including X-ray machines and ETD tools.

  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify irregularities or prohibited items.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with team members and supervisors.

  • Ability to follow strict protocols and maintain confidentiality.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make quick decisions in stressful situations.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required.

  • Prior experience in security or cargo screening is preferred.

  • Must be able to pass TSA background checks and security clearances.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain required security certifications.

  • If work location is in the United States, must have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986.If work location is in Canada, must have authorization to work in Canada as defined by the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA) of 2001.
