Job Overview:

Select Event Group is a highly respected event rental company. Partnering with the regions and nations most successful event professionals, Select is dedicated to building long term relationships based on operational excellence and a commitment to our Clients success. Select provides the widest and deepest array of event rental products and services available to event professionals. The Transportation Driver - CDL position for our Tents, Structures and Flooring Division will support our warehouse and field operations.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Following the best practices for safety on and off the road
  • Conducts a daily pre-trip and post-trip safety inspection
  • Ensures cargo is loaded and secured against movement and damage
  • Collect and verify delivery instructions
  • Log and track trips as required
  • Effectively trip plans using maps, GPS, written or verbal information
  • Accurately and carefully deliver equipment
  • Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions
  • Report defects, accidents, or violations
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, rules, and regulations
  • Assist with loading/unloading of cargo at times

Qualifications Include:

  • Ability to work cohesively as part of a team
  • Must have a positive attitude
  • Must be able to read, write and communicate effectively
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including days, nights, and weekends
  • Organizational and time management skills
  • 1 year experience driving 48/53 trucks
  • Must be 21 years of age
  • Must pass DOT physical and drug screening (background check)
  • Working knowledge and understanding of Motor Carrier Safety regulations/DOT guidelines and CDL A rules and regulations
  • Should have knowledge of the Maryland, DC and Virginia area
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lb.
  • Minimum of three 3 years of verifiable driving experience
  • Safe driving and accident history
