Job description

Position Summary

The NYU School of Professional Studies (SPS) is seeking an Associate Director to provide career development leadership and direction by designing, delivering, and directing coaching programs, services, and major events offered to current undergraduate, graduate students and NYU SPS Alumni. This individual will provide direct counseling one-on-one and in groups; evaluate program effectiveness and make changes; serve as a liaison with student clubs/leaders, alumni, university administrators, employers, and faculty. Develop and supervise professional and office support staff. Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with corporate and non-for-profit organizations to create jobs. Analyze data, prepare and present reports.

Qualifications

Required Education: Bachelor's Degree in human resources, student personnel or related field. Preferred Education: Master's Degree in a related field. Required Experience: 5+ years Relevant professional-level experience in career services and coaching, counseling, student personnel, human resources, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience creating and executing strategy for large-scale coaching service models in person and virtual formats. Must include experience managing staff and budgets, and developing programs, seminars, events, and training materials. Experience planning simultaneous events, creating promotional materials, and managing projects, preferably in student affairs or career services. Experience utilizing assessments, data collection, producing reports, and leveraging data for strategic planning. Preferred Experience: 7+ years career services, counseling, student personnel, human resources, professional coaching with at least 1 year in diversity and inclusion activities or equivalent experience. Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Career planning, assessment, and job search expertise. Excellent communication, presentation, writing, editorial and organizational skills. Leadership, hiring, training and people-management experience. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to deal with a diverse population at all levels. Ability to plan and manage large events. MS Office and Google Suites. Excellent with learning and implementing new technology.

Additional Information

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $75,000.00 to USD $95,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
