Job description

Job Summary
Our client is seeking a highly professional, reliable, and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to support clinical operations across two regional campuses. This role is integral to the daily clinic workflow, serving as the primary point of contact for patients preparing to see the physician. The ideal candidate will possess strong documentation skills, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and demonstrate a mature, grounded approach to patient care within a behavioral health and substance abuse treatment setting.
Key Responsibilities
  • Patient Intake & Assessment: Welcome patients, review schedules, and manage an efficient clinical flow of up to 20 to 25 patients per day (scheduled in 10-minute intervals).
  • EHR Documentation: Utilize CareCloud EHR to meticulously document the patient's chief complaint, current signs/symptoms, and details regarding medication efficacy.
  • Specimen Processing: Pull up required lab orders, collect Urine Drug Screen (UDS) samples from patients, accurately label specimens, and prepare them in FedEx shipping boxes for daily laboratory transit.
  • Physician Prep: Prepare the patient digitally and clinically to ensure a seamless handoff when they walk back to see the physician.
  • Patient Education: Participate in upcoming training to eventually deliver integrated patient education down the line.

Schedule
  • Tuesday: 8:30AM - 5:00 PM | Glen Burnie Clinic
  • Wednesday: 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM | Baltimore Clinic
  • Thursday: 9AM - 3:00 PM | Baltimore Clinic
  • Friday: 8:30AM - 5:00 PM | Glen Burnie Clinic
  • Saturday: 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM | Glen Burnie Clinic
    • Note: The clinic is closed on Mondays and Sundays. No same-day travel between clinics is required.

Qualifications
  • Active, unrestricted Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license.
  • Minimum of 2 years of active nursing experience.
  • Previous experience or comfort working with behavioral health, psychiatric, or substance abuse populations is highly preferred.
  • Ability to quickly learn and navigate electronic health records (CareCloud experience is a plus, but not required).

Additional Requirements
  • Dress Code & Safety: Solid-colored scrubs (no cartoon prints) with strictly closed-toe shoes or Crocs to adhere to workplace sharps and clinical safety protocols.

  • 401k (Eligible on the first 401k open enrollment date following 6 consecutive months on assignment. 401k Open Enrollment dates are 1/1, 4/1, 7/1, and 10/1).
