Children's Medical Center, Inc. is dedicated to providing high-quality healthcare for infants, children, and adolescents in the Middletown area. Children's Medical Center, Inc. is a division of CareCloud Practice Management a subsidiary of CareCloud Inc.
Job Summary: The floor nurse position for Children's Medical Center, is responsible for rooming patients, evaluating patients, taking patient history, parent education, assisting physicians when necessary as well as maintaining medical supplies, stocking rooms and using sterilization equipment. This position includes but not limited to quality patient care, accurate medical chart documentation, maintaining OSHA and HIPAA compliance, maintaining equipment and environmental safety. Performs all other tasks assigned.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Places patients in exam rooms and takes health history
  • Performs evaluations of child: Temp, weight, head circumference, BP and pulse
  • Administers vaccines
  • Performs venipuncture
  • Administers antibiotic injections
  • Administers O2 per mask or cannula
  • Administers Albuterol or Vaponephrine nebulizer treatments
  • Performs deep suction
  • Performs ear irrigations
  • Collects RSV, viral and flu cultures
  • Performs bladder catherterizations and runs UAs in office
  • Collects and runs throat cultures
  • Collects specimen and tests for non-fasting lipid screen
  • Collects specimen and run rapid flu tests
  • Collects specimen and run rapid RSV tests
  • Splints extremities and fingers with aluminum or plaster splints
  • Administers OET (hearing test)
  • Administers Tympanogram
  • Administers visual acuity test
  • Maintains current professional license and CPR certificate
  • Offers high level of customer service to patients and families
  • Assists other personnel in times of high volume
  • Willingly participates in a team environment. Maintains positive working relationships with co-workers
  • Works well independently and uses time wisely
  • Maintains HIPAA compliance
  • Arrives to work at scheduled time
  • Attend staff meetings
  • Performs all other tasks assigned by the Lead Nurse, Office Manager and Physicians

  • Exceptional skills in organizing worklias and work area
  • Must be able to work well under pressure while maintaining quality of care and efficient patient flow
  • This job requires extensive standing, walking, bending and lifting
  • Must be able to use a computer

Education and Experience:
  • Current Registered Nurse License, Licensed Practical Nurse License or Certified Medical Assistant Certificate
  • Must have current CPR certification

Interaction:
Individual may interact with patients, families, co-workers and the general public. May expect exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, and medicinal preparations. May require individuals to work in outside elements to provide patient care due to business needs.
