Pay & Schedule
  • Starting at $15.85/hour 

  • Flexible scheduling

  • Primarily Monday–Friday daytime hours (typically between 8:00am–5:00pm)

  • Part-time opportunities available


What You’ll Do

As a Caregiver / DSP, you will:

Provide Person-Centered Support
  • Facilitate engaging group and one-on-one programming tailored to individual goals (daily living skills, communication, recreation, independence)

  • Assist with personal care including hygiene, mobility, meal support, and medication reminders

  • Follow individualized service and behavioral support plans

Promote Community Inclusion
  • Support individuals in meaningful community activities

  • Encourage friendships and natural supports

  • Teach and model social and independent living skills

Advocate & Build Relationships
  • Encourage self-expression and informed choice

  • Maintain professional communication with families, care teams, and community partners

  • Represent Aptiv positively in the community

Health, Safety & Compliance
  • Monitor health, behavior, and emotional wellbeing

  • Report changes or concerns promptly

  • Follow safety procedures and care plans

  • Adhere to local, state, and federal regulations and agency policies

Documentation & Accountability
  • Complete accurate daily progress notes and service documentation

  • Track service time and participant progress

  • Maintain confidentiality and ethical standards

Transportation Support
  • Provide safe transportation for participants (valid driver’s license required)

  • Promote pedestrian safety

  • Support individuals in learning alternative transportation methods

Professional Expectations
  • Attend required meetings and paid trainings

  • Collaborate with team members

  • Maintain professionalism at all times


QualificationsRequired:
  • 18 years or older

  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record

  • Reliable transportation with required insurance

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office/Windows)

  • Flexible availability

  • Ability to obtain First Aid certification within 30 days of hire

Preferred:
  • Experience as a Caregiver, DSP, CNA, or in human services

  • Experience working with individuals with disabilities

  • Related 2- or 4-year degree


Physical & Work Environment
  • Standing, walking, bending throughout shift

  • Ability to lift up to 80 lbs (varies by participant needs)

  • May assist with wheelchair mobility and transfers

  • Participation in recreational and sensory activities

  • Ability to stay calm and responsive in emergency situations

  • Work may include supporting individuals who display behavioral challenges (training provided)
