About the Position

As a Sales Representative for The Jankovich Company, you will be responsible for developing new business opportunities, growing existing customer relationships, and driving profitable sales growth across our petroleum, lubricant, and cardlock product lines throughout Southern California.

This position combines business development, account management, and customer service. The successful candidate will manage an assigned territory while actively pursuing new business opportunities through prospecting, networking, referrals, and industry engagement. While maintaining and growing an existing customer base is important, this role is also expected to generate new customer relationships and expand market share.

The Sales Representative owns the sales process from initial prospecting through implementation and ongoing account management. This includes developing territory plans, maintaining pipeline and forecasting information, collaborating with operations and customer service teams, and delivering solutions that meet customer needs while supporting company growth objectives.

This position reports to the Director of Sales and requires regular travel throughout Southern California to visit customers, prospects, and industry partners.


Compensation

Base salary range: $70,000 to $110,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.

In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for incentive compensation opportunities based on individual and company performance.


As a member of the team, you will:

  • Develop and manage a defined sales territory by identifying, pursuing, and securing new business opportunities.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing customers to support retention, growth, and customer satisfaction.
  • Conduct regular customer visits, sales presentations, business reviews, and site assessments to understand customer needs and recommend appropriate solutions.
  • Manage the sales process from prospecting and lead generation through implementation, onboarding, and ongoing account management.
  • Develop and execute sales strategies to increase petroleum, lubricant, and cardlock sales volume within assigned markets.
  • Prepare proposals, pricing recommendations, and customer agreements in collaboration with sales leadership.
  • Coordinate with operations, customer service, and accounting teams to ensure successful onboarding and ongoing customer support.
  • Maintain accurate customer information, activity records, opportunity pipelines, and sales forecasts.
  • Monitor market trends, competitive activity, and customer needs to identify opportunities for growth and improve market position.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety requirements, and applicable regulatory standards.
  • Represent The Jankovich Company professionally and ethically in all customer and business interactions.

We require that you have:

  • Minimum of three (3) years of business-to-business sales, account management, business development, or related customer-facing experience.
  • Proven ability to build relationships develop new business opportunities and manage customer accounts.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with internal teams.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and opportunities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM or customer relationship management systems.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
  • Ability and willingness to travel regularly throughout Southern California to support customer and business development activities.
  • Ability to occasionally attend customer meetings, industry events, networking functions, or trade shows outside normal business hours.
  • Experience in petroleum, lubricants, transportation, logistics, marine operations, industrial products, or related industries preferred.
  • Cardlock sales experience is a plus.
  • Commitment to maintaining a strong safety culture and adherence to customer and company safety requirements.
