Job description

Southern Ohio Medical Center (SOMC) is seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Cardiothoracic Surgeon to join SOMC Heart & Vascular Associates in Portsmouth, Ohio.

Join a collaborative, hospital-employed team that includes cardiothoracic and vascular surgeons, interventional cardiologists, six advanced practice providers, and dedicated surgical support staff.

Position highlights:

  • $1,123,919 base salary
  • Sign-on bonus $100,000
  • Medical school loan repayment of up to $200,000
  • Residency/fellowship stipend of up to $25,000
  • Bonus incentives of up to 10% of salary
  • 1:3 call rotation
  • Full breadth of cardiothoracic surgery, including CABG, valve replacement, surgical ablation, VATS, thoracotomy, esophagectomy, and hiatal hernia repair
  • Full cardiac surgical resources, cardiopulmonary bypass, and a da Vinci robotic surgical system
  • Opportunities to incorporate vascular work for qualified candidates
  • $10,000 moving allowance
  • Teaching opportunities and eligibility for Clinical Adjunct Faculty status through Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine

Candidates must be fellowship-trained in Cardiac Surgery and eligible for medical licensure in Ohio.
