Description

American Traveler is hiring a CV Invasive Specialist for a Cardiac Cath Lab, requiring 2+ years of invasive cardiovascular or electrophysiology experience and RCIS or RCES certification.

Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years of Invasive Cardiovascular Technology or Electrophysiology experience (academic training and CVIS training do not count)
  • Bachelor's degree in a health science program from an accredited institution, or graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology, Cardiovascular Technology, Respiratory Therapy, or Nursing program
  • RCIS or RCES certification required
  • BLS certification required
  • ACLS certification required (PALS also accepted, must be obtained within 6 months of hire if not already certified)
  • AHA-issued certifications required and must not expire prior to start date
  • Active license required, if applicable
  • Radiation badge required
  • Demonstrated proficiency in all CVIS I job duties without supervision
  • Competency in basic coronary intervention with completed skills pass off
  • Minimum of 20 hours of continuing medical education (CME) credits per year
  • Proficiency with imaging equipment operation, calibration, and troubleshooting
  • Skilled in scrub tech, circulating tech, and monitoring tech procedures
  • DOB and last 4 digits of SSN required for consideration
Additional Information
  • Participate in procedure room preparation and post-procedure turnaround
  • Perform hemodynamic recordings, calculations, and interpretations
  • Provide emotional support and education to patients and family members
  • Assist with inventory control and point of care testing/QA
  • Assess and document patient condition, informing physicians of any deviations during procedures
  • Apply principles of x-ray generation and safety, operating imaging equipment correctly
  • Serve as circulating tech, scrub tech, or monitoring tech according to cath lab policies and scope of practice
  • May mix and administer certain medications under physician direction and supervision
  • May apply closure devices, suture sheaths, or remove sheaths and apply pressure for hemostasis
  • Maintain thorough and accurate documentation of procedures and associated events
  • Maintain knowledge of cardiopulmonary pathophysiology, pharmacology, and anatomic anomalies
  • Orient, mentor, and provide direct supervision to new CVIS I staff as a preceptor
  • Provide staff education during Skills Day Workshops and training on specialized equipment
  • Prepare for and respond appropriately to patient status changes during procedures
  • Permanent staff must be separated from any Intermountain facility for at least one year before becoming eligible for this travel assignment
