The Supervisor for Invasive Cardiovascular Services provides supervision of the cardiac catheterization lab and specials department across multiple sites and locations. The Supervisor for Invasive Cardiovascular Services is responsible for the general oversight of daily operations such as scheduling work assignments for associates, securing replacements for sick calls, coordination of orientation for new associates and ongoing education for all associates, maintaining appropriate master staffing. The Supervisor is an active participant in the identification and resolution of improvement opportunities, the development of new processes, programs and services. The Supervisor partners with the Manager, Invasive Cardiovascular Services to ensure smooth patient flow and physician satisfaction.

This position is M-F, primarily daytime hours. There needs to be flexibility to support off shifts or scheduled meetings outside of normal working hours. There are no holidays, weekends, or call with this role. The person would oversee locations in Neenah, Appleton, and Manitowoc.

Key Accountabilities

  • Is responsible for daily operations and work processes that includes staffing and patient flow within the departments.
  • Monitors compliance with standards of care by observation, verbal reports, audits, and written documentation, with feedback loops to department leaders, providers, and team members.
  • Demonstrates emotional intelligence and confidence and maintains composure during conflict. Serves with integrity and sets a positive example at all times.
  • Provides input and supports the Manager in interviewing and hiring, appraisal performance, mentoring, motivating, coaching, and retention of team members.
  • Work with the Manager to create performance metrics, reports, and improvement targets to align with strategic initiatives.
  • Understands and can manage change, and assists team members through transitions. Advocates for stakeholders to meet strategic goals, and assists team members in understanding how their day–to-day jobs contribute to organizational strategy.
  • Provides feedback to peers in a constructive manner, keeps information confidential, and develops and maintains lateral, cross-boundary relationships.
  • Demonstrates clinical expertise in the clinical specialty of assigned responsibility with the ability to perform all functions of the professional clinician that are age appropriate and culturally specific.
  • Collaborates on department schedules, monitors staffing levels, and provides input to the budget preparation/monitoring and the identification of workload variability to predict and plan for appropriate staffing to enhance productivity/efficiency and maintain quality care.
  • Carries out other duties and special assignments as delegated by the Manager.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's Degree in healthcare leadership or management OR 3 years of progressively responsible experience in Invasive Cardiology, Neurology and Interventional Radiology (IR)
  • Two years of progressive leadership responsibilities in healthcare setting that includes leading teams and projects relevant to Cardiology, Neurology or IR.
  • American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) and (ACLS) or must obtain within 30 days of hire.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to move freely (standing, stooping, walking, bending, pushing and pulling) and lift up to a maximum of fifty (50) pounds without assistance
  • Job classification is exposed to blood borne pathogens (blood or bodily fluids) while performing job duties

  • Frequent exposure to sharp objects and instruments
  • Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock.
  • Occasional high noise level in work environment.
  • Possible exposure to communicable diseases, hazardous materials, and pharmacological agents.
  • Occasional contact with aggressive and or combative patients.
  • Use of computers throughout work day
  • Frequent use of keyboard with repetitive motion of hands, wrist and fingers
