The Cardiology Systems Specialist - Heart & Vascular Institute serves as the primary application resource supporting enterprise cardiology technologies across Hartford HealthCare. This role partners with physicians, clinicians, operational leaders, vendors, and Information Services to implement, optimize, integrate, and support clinical applications that enable ECG, electrophysiology (EP), ambulatory cardiac monitoring, and related cardiology workflows across multiple hospitals and ambulatory locations. Supports enterprise cardiology applications utilized across approximately 494 locations and more than 1,091 reading providers while contributing to hospital acquisitions, new practice integrations, technology deployments, workflow optimization, and ongoing production support.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
β€’ Provide enterprise application support for cardiology technologies including GE MUSE, MUSE Web, Epic integrations, ECG management, electrophysiology (EP), Holter, Event Monitor, and Mobile Cardiac Telemetry (MCT) platforms.
β€’ Partner with physicians, clinicians, operational leaders, Information Services, and third-party vendors to analyze workflows, identify opportunities, and implement technology solutions that improve clinical operations and patient care.
β€’ Lead application implementation, configuration, testing, validation, upgrades, workflow optimization, and production support activities.
β€’ Coordinate application support for hospital acquisitions, physician practice integrations, new site implementations, and enterprise technology initiatives.
β€’ Perform application troubleshooting and serve as an escalation resource for complex production issues, interface problems, ECG mismatches, and work queue (WQ) exceptions.
β€’ Provide end-user education and training for physicians, technicians, nursing staff, and ancillary users supporting ECG and ambulatory monitoring workflows.
β€’ Support interface testing and integration between cardiology applications, Epic, and other enterprise clinical systems to ensure data integrity and standardized workflows.
β€’ Maintain compliance with regulatory requirements, enterprise standards, and clinical best practices while supporting ongoing system optimization.
β€’ Travel to hospitals, physician practices, ambulatory sites, and other Hartford HealthCare locations to support implementations, go-lives, workflow optimization, equipment deployments, and user training.
β€’ Participate in a rotating weekend/on-call support schedule to ensure continuity of operations for critical clinical applications and timely resolution of production issues.
Qualifications:
Education:
β€’ Bachelor's degree in Health Sciences, Information Systems, Healthcare Administration, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience:
β€’ 2-5 years supporting healthcare clinical applications required.
β€’ Experience supporting cardiology applications (GE MUSE, MUSE Web, Epic, ECG cart management, ambulatory cardiac monitoring, electrophysiology systems, or similar) strongly preferred.
β€’ Experience with application implementation, workflow analysis, testing, system integration, production support, and vendor collaboration preferred.
Critical Success Factors:
β€’ Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to resolve complex clinical application issues.
β€’ Ability to independently manage multiple enterprise initiatives while maintaining day-to-day operational support.
β€’ Excellent communication and customer service skills when partnering with physicians, clinicians, operational leaders, and vendors.
β€’ Ability to travel throughout Hartford HealthCare locations as required.
β€’ Ability to participate in rotating on-call/weekend support responsibilities.
