Work Environment

As a Physician Assistant at our Topeka hospital, you will work alongside physicians, nurse practitioners, and other medical staff in a fast-paced, supportive environment. You will work a Monday through Friday schedule, totaling 40 hours per week, with a focus on patient engagement beginning at 5:00 PM to accommodate both inpatient and outpatient care needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough physical examinations, compile and review comprehensive medical histories, and interpret diagnostic results to formulate effective treatment plans.
  • Order, manage, and analyze diagnostic tests (including but not limited to, blood tests, EKGs, and imaging studies) to assess patients' cardiovascular health.
  • Diagnose a spectrum of cardiac conditions, including arrhythmias, coronary artery disease, and heart failure, and develop tailored management and treatment strategies.
  • Prescribe medications, monitor their efficacy and side effects, and make adjustments to therapeutic regimens to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Maintain meticulous patient records and schedules, ensuring compliance with legal and institutional regulations regarding health care documentation.
  • Offer patients and their families comprehensive explanations regarding diagnoses, treatment options, and lifestyle modifications necessary for improving cardiovascular health.
