As a Physician Assistant at our Topeka hospital, you will work alongside physicians, nurse practitioners, and other medical staff in a fast-paced, supportive environment. The modern facility guarantees access to the latest diagnostic tools and treatment options, enabling you to provide the highest standard of care. You will work a Monday through Friday schedule, totaling 40 hours per week, with a focus on patient engagement beginning at 5:00 PM to accommodate both inpatient and outpatient care needs.

• Conduct thorough physical examinations, compile and review comprehensive medical histories, and interpret diagnostic results to formulate effective treatment plans.
• Order, manage, and analyze diagnostic tests (including but not limited to, blood tests, EKGs, and imaging studies) to assess patients' cardiovascular health.
• Diagnose a spectrum of cardiac conditions, including arrhythmias, coronary artery disease, and heart failure, and develop tailored management and treatment strategies.
• Prescribe medications, monitor their efficacy and side effects, and make adjustments to therapeutic regimens to optimize patient outcomes.
• Maintain meticulous patient records and schedules, ensuring compliance with legal and institutional regulations regarding health care documentation.
• Offer patients and their families comprehensive explanations regarding diagnoses, treatment options, and lifestyle modifications necessary for improving cardiovascular health.
• Educate patients on various cardiovascular diseases, emphasizing the importance of lifestyle changes and preventive measures to minimize health risks.
• Engage in continuous professional development activities, including attending conferences, engaging in research, and participating in team collaboration to enhance clinical skills.
• Promote community health initiatives designed to enhance awareness and prevention strategies related to cardiovascular illnesses.

This role will primarily focus on a diverse adult population experiencing a range of cardiovascular issues. You will provide care to patients from varying socio-economic backgrounds, understanding the unique challenges they face. Your role is vital in guiding patients through their treatment processes, advocating for their health, and facilitating access to necessary resources.

• A Bachelor's degree in Physician Assistant studies from an accredited institution is required.
• Current licensure as a Physician Assistant in the State of Kansas (PA-C) is essential.
• DEA registration is mandatory for prescribing controlled substances.

• Proven clinical experience as a Physician Assistant, particularly within cardiology or a related healthcare setting.
• Demonstrated knowledge of cardiology best practices and regulations, coupled with a passion for patient-centered care.
• Experienced in managing complex cardiac health issues, with a strong understanding of both acute and chronic care modalities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective patient interaction and teamwork.
• Ability to manage stressful situations with professionalism and composure.
