Job description

Division Chief, Plastic Surgery – Loyola Medicine

The Department of Surgery at Loyola University Medical Center is seeking an accomplished, collaborative Plastic Surgeon to serve as Division Chief of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. This Chief will join a growing faculty and a collaborative working environment. This is a physician leadership opportunity for a surgeon who wants meaningful clinical practice combined with responsibility for program direction, team development, quality, and growth.


The Division has a main clinical base at Loyola University Medical Center, with Gottlieb Memorial Hospital, MacNeal Hospital and the Hines VA Hospital also attended by the group.


Highlights of the Position

  • Provide clinical, strategic, and operational leadership for the division.

  • Guide division that spans cosmetic and reconstructive surgery, breast reconstruction, skin cancer reconstruction, facial reconstruction, body contouring, burn surgery, complex wound care, craniomaxillofacial trauma, and pediatric congenital deformities.

  • Collaborate with Breast Surgery, Surgical Oncology, Dermatology, Trauma, Wound Care, and hospital leadership to strengthen coordinated patient care.

  • Partner with leadership on physician recruitment, access, quality improvement, operational standardization, and program expansion.


Candidate Requirements

  • MD or DO with Board Certification in Plastic Surgery.

  • Associate or Professor of Surgery rank

  • Prior leadership, division development, or physician management experience strongly preferred.

  • Track record of mentorship and career guidance for faculty, residents and students

  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams and to balance clinical excellence with operational stewardship.
