About This Role:
Cardinal is seeking an Estimator to join our dynamic and growing team. As an Estimator, you will support the business at large and help improve workplace communication and efficiency. You will conduct yourself as a leader with high integrity and excellent attention to detail.
Responsibilities:
As an Estimator, you will:
- Collect different quotes from subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers
- Identify and analyze labor, material costs, and time requirements, by searching proposals, blueprints, project plans, and any related documents to gain a thorough understanding of the project
- Analyze company data, monitor budgets and prices using software packages
- Determine what factors of production will influence the cost of a service or product
- Prepare material estimates and cost estimates for the product or service
- Create labor estimates for any project
- Develop and maintain relationships with company vendors and contractors
- Manage bids from vendors and contractors
- Use bid data to prepare detailed cost analysis/estimate reports
- Present prepared estimates to management and other stakeholders
- Compile and record actual costs
- Review and assess cost estimates
- Source new opportunities
- Manage Win/Loss tracking and reporting
- Manage competitor list (cross-reference with Win/Loss tracking)
Qualifications:
EDUCATION: Associates Degree in Business, Construction, or Engineering. Bachelor's Degree Preferred.
EXPERIENCE:Surveying experience (in and out of the office) 5 year minimum, and Site Construction experience of at least 5 years.
KNOWLEDGE OF:
- Microsoft Office (required)
- Bluebeam Revu
SKILLS/ABILITIES:
Proficiency in mathematics, statistics and data analysis- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
- Report writing and strategic planning skills
- Familiarity with analyzing requirement data to develop material and cost estimates for large projects
- Expertise with analytic tools, such as spreadsheets and database managers
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents
