PEL/VIP is seeking a travel nurse RN Cardiac Stepdown for a travel nursing job in Peoria, Illinois.

Registered Nurse (RN) - ICU | Travel | Assignment Overview

We are seeking an experienced ICU Registered Nurse for the Acute Cardiac Intermediate Unit. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in CVICU or Cardiac ICU, with at least two years of experience and the ability to handle a fast-paced, high-stress environment. This role involves care of stepdown patients with complex cardiac needs, including TAVRs, ablations, heart failure, and more.

Assignment Details
  • Estimated gross weekly pay package: $2565 (negotiable)
  • Shift: 12-hour days (7a-7p or 7p-7a)
  • Weekend Requirements: Every other weekend to every third weekend
  • Holiday Requirements: Yes, every other
  • Floating Requirements: Expected to float to every level of care, including ICU
  • Charting System: EPIC
  • Care Setting: Acute
  • Trauma Level: 1
  • Number of Beds: 20, all private and monitored
Responsibilities
  • Care for stepdown patients with cardiac needs
  • Titrate medications such as dopamine, dobutamine, and others
  • Interpret ECG strips and troubleshoot ventilators
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop patient care plans
  • Maintain accurate patient records
  • Float to ICU as needed
Qualifications

Required:

  • Active IL RN license or application in process
  • 2+ years of CVICU or Cardiac ICU experience
  • BLS certification (AHA)
  • Ability to interpret ECG strips and titrate drips
  • Strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills

Preferred:

  • ACLS, CCRN, or PCCN certifications
