Registered Nurse - Cardiology Clinic (Device Clinic)

Regions Hospital in St. Paul, MN is looking for an exceptional, patient focused Registered Nurse to join our Cardiology team and make a difference for our patients and our community.

Position Summary:

Under the direction of the Manager of Clinical Operations, the registered nurse is responsible and accountable for the delivery of nursing care to adult and geriatric patients. The nurse is responsible for collaborating with other healthcare team members (e.g. MD, PA, NP, RN, ambulatory care coordinators) to develop and implement the patient's plan of care. Other responsibilities include delegation, oversight, and evaluation of delegated care plan tasks. The RN will also participate in department Quality Improvement Programs and perform other duties as assigned. This position supports and participates in achieving departmental goals. Work Schedule:

Days may vary between Mon-Fri, hours may vary between 7:30 am - 5:00 pm

Core Responsibilities

  • In-clinic device evaluations — Perform routine and problem-focused checks on pacemakers, ICDs, and other cardiac rhythm management devices.
  • Remote monitoring — Review and interpret remote transmissions, triage alerts, and escalate clinically significant findings.
  • MRI coordination — Verify MRI compatibility, collaborate with MRI staff to clear patients for scanning, and ensure appropriate device programming before and after imaging.
  • Alert and symptom assessment — Evaluate incoming device alerts, correlate findings with patient-reported symptoms, and determine whether device settings support optimal therapy.
  • Clinical collaboration — Work closely with electrophysiologists, APPs, and clinic staff to troubleshoot device issues and support patient care plans.
  • Documentation and workflow management — Maintain accurate device records, update reports, and manage electronic workflows associated with device checks and remote monitoring.

Work Environment

  • Patient-facing care — Includes in-person device checks, patient education, and coordination of care.
  • Computer-based work — More than half of the role involves reviewing remote transmissions, documenting findings, managing alerts, and coordinating with clinical teams through electronic systems.

Required Qualifications:

  • Graduation from an accredited Nursing Program.
  • Licensed in the State of Minnesota and Wisconsin as a Registered Nurse.
  • WI RN License within 6 months of hire.
  • BCLS required. ACLS required only for Non-Invasive Lab or willing to obtain.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to problem solve, make decisions, and collaborate with multiple team members.
  • Ability to multitask patient care issues, in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of cardiac anatomy and physiology.
