Job description

Job Title:ย Carbon Steel Pipe Welder

Location:ย Glen Burnie, MD
Salary:ย $24-28/Hourly | Full-Time

Prioritized Must Have Skills for the Carbon Steel Pipe Welder:

#1.ย  4 years of overall experience.

#2. Can set up welding machine & adjust accordingly for the process & material being welded.

Responsibilities of the Carbon Steel Pipe Welder:

  • Capable of welding carbon steel pipe, based on the following:
    • STICK (SMAW) process
    • ยฝโ€ โ€“ 2โ€ Socket Weld
    • 1-1/2โ€ โ€“ 24โ€ Butt Weld (SCH 40 & SCH 80 Wall Thickness)
    • Must be able to pass 6โ€ 6G Pipe Test and weld in all positions
    • Weld quality must pass X-ray test.
  • Willing to work at least 40 hours per week, or as much as 7-12โ€™s, if required by contract.
  • Flexibility on work environment (ie โ€“ dirty versus clean work).
  • Flexibility to work night shift as required (not likely, but may be necessary).
  • Flexibility on working indoors and outdoors, regardless of weather. This is not a shop environment.
  • Flexibility to work outside the trade, if welding work is not available.

Requirements of the Carbon Steel Pipe Welder:

  • Own Transportation and willingness to work within the MAIC region (MD, Southern PA, Northern VA, Eastern WV, and DE).
  • 4-10โ€™s schedule (Mon โ€“ Thu or Tues โ€“ Fri), starting at 6:30 AM.
  • US Citizen or Green Card Verified.
  • Can set up welding machine & adjust accordingly for the process & material being welded.
  • Hire by MAIC dependent on ability to pass welding test. o Must pass 10 panel drug and alcohol screening.

Other Key Requirements:

  • 100% in office role with travel
