Job description

The SGL site in St. Marys, Pennsylvania, is our largest graphite component processing site worldwide. It is characterized by its broad product portfolio and expertise in machined, purified and CVD coated parts used especially in the fast growing LED and semiconductor industries. The site is part of the Business Unit Graphite Solutions.
This position is responsible to assist and facilitate the development, design and implementation of the quality and continuous improvement systems for the St. Marys facility. Through communication, innovation and knowledge of the carbon/graphite manufacturing process, this position will provide leadership to enable the company to provide its customers a quality product in a timely manner and implement changes that will help reduce cost and improve productivity.
What to expect:
  • Process Owner of Customer Complaints
  • Administration of Corrective Action Plan (CAP) System
  • Administration of Control Plans and Change Control
  • Administration of SGL Lifecycle Process and Stage Gates
  • Administration of the Internal Audit Plan
  • Assist in Product Certification during any absence of personnel
  • Customer Audits - assist when customer complaints or corrective actions are to be audited
  • Represent SGL at customer locations for meetings concerning the conduction of DOE's and capability studies, by both SGL and customers, that result from customer complaints
  • Generate and distribute various quality reports for facility as required
  • Complete any required Measurement System Analysis or Gage R&R studies

  • Bachelor's degree in technical field (preferably Engineering)
  • Professional association certification (ASQ)
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, statistical software, digital photography, Shop Vue, SAP
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; requires decision-making ability and the ability to work without close supervision
  • Excellent organizational, customer service, analytical, problem solving and mathematical skills
