AIRCLEAN

Job Title: Filter Assembler

Department: Production

Reports To: Production Manager

Job Summary

The Filter Assembler constructs, packs, and seals specialized carbon filters used directly inside containment hoods and air enclosures. This role involves direct handling of loose or bonded activated carbon media within a heavy-particulate environment. High attention to detail is required to ensure airtight seals, prevent media shifting, and meet strict safety and environmental filtration standards.


Responsibilities

  • Fill and pack filter frames with granular or bonded activated carbon media to precise specifications.
  • Install HEPA/ULPA filters into housing frames without damaging media
  • Assemble multi-component filter housings using hand tools, rivets, and mechanical fasteners.
  • Apply specialized gaskets, silicone, and airtight sealants to prevent air bypass.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings to build filters to exact dimensional tolerances.
  • Integrate pre-filter pads or mesh screens into the carbon housing assembly.
  • Perform weight-verification checks to ensure proper carbon mass loading in every filter.
  • Operate carbon dispensing equipment safely to minimize airborne dust generation.
  • Handle loose or bonded carbon media safely following established material protocols.
  • Maintain a clean work area by following internal protocols.
  • Adhere to safety procedures including proper handling of materials and PPE.

Experience / Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent general education degree.
  • One year of experience in a manufacturing, mechanical assembly, or fabrication role.
  • Basic math skills for measuring components and calculating strict tolerances.


Location

This position will be based at our offices located in Creedmoor, NC.


Terms of employment

This is a full-time, non-exempt, hourly position.

Hours

The general hours shall be Monday-Friday, 6:45am to 3:15pm with a 30-min break for lunch.


Work Environment

Airborne particulate environment: Regular, daily exposure to fine, black carbon dust.


Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.


  • Stand for up to 8 hours per shift and maintain strong manual dexterity.
  • Ability to Lift up to 40 pounds independently, and up to 50 pounds with assistance for large frames.


Travel

No travel required.
