CAR WASH ASSOCIATE – JOB DESCRIPTION

Car Wash Associate Responsibilities:

The Car Wash Associate is responsible for representing and promoting the car wash operations in an up-beat manner, which ensures customer confidence and maximum efficiency for the car wash. The Car Wash Associate coordinates activities and cooperates with other employees, managers, and departments of the Company to serve the needs of the customer. The Car Wash Associate reports directly to the Car Wash Manager.

Car Wash Associate duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Greet all customers with a positive attitude
  • Receive payment from customers and issue change
  • Perform visual inspections of the condition of each vehicle prior to sending it through the car wash
  • Direct customer to entrance of wash or guide automobile onto wheel track of automatic mechanism with a focused, pleasant, and competent demeanor
  • Clean rear of vehicle, using brush and soap
  • Activate wash mechanism; observe operation to detect equipment malfunctions
  • Notify the Car Wash Manager if malfunctions occur
  • Report damage claims immediately to Car Wash Manager
  • Be proficient with all policies and procedures with the ability to perform them on a daily basis
  • Ensure property and grounds are clean and maintained for customers, including the unclogging of vacuums, hanging of hoses, emptying of trash and keeping lot swept and clean at all times
  • Cleaning out the pits with a shovel to clear of sludge/debris
  • Climb in and out if pits that are 4ft deep
  • Be polite and available to address all customer concerns and handle in a professional manner that is satisfactory to both the customer and to the car wash
  • Execute daily checklist and cleaning procedures

Experience/Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Self-motivated; dependable
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Lift up to 50 pounds
  • Stand for long periods of time, up to 10 hours
  • Able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining 100% customer focus
  • Problem solving skills
  • Basic mathematics skills
  • Able to work in all types of environmental conditions
  • Able to use appropriate hand signals
  • Able to work around chemicals

Hours:

The Car Wash Associate is either a full time or part time position and can work up to 40 hours per week. Hours are not guaranteed.
