Job description

Job Summary:
We are hiring a hands-on Maintenance Technician to support multiple car wash locations throughout East Tennessee. This role is critical to keeping our equipment running safely and efficiently so our sites can operate without downtime.
If you are mechanically inclined, enjoy troubleshooting real-world equipment problems, and prefer working independently in the field, this role will be a strong fit.
You will be responsible for diagnosing issues, performing repairs, and completing preventative maintenance on a wide range of car wash systems including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and water treatment equipment. This position requires someone who is dependable, quick to problem-solve, and comfortable responding to urgent equipment breakdowns when needed.
We value technicians who take ownership of their work, communicate clearly with site managers, and understand the impact equipment downtime has on daily operations and customer experience. What You'll Do (Day-to-Day Responsibilities)
In this role, your day will vary depending on equipment needs and service calls. Typical responsibilities include:
  • Performing scheduled preventative maintenance on tunnel and support equipment
  • Diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues
  • Repairing and servicing pumps, motors, blowers, conveyors, and chemical systems
  • Maintaining air compressors, plumbing systems, and water reclaim systems
  • Responding to breakdowns and emergency service calls as needed
  • Testing equipment to ensure proper operation after repairs
  • Documenting maintenance work, repairs, and parts used
  • Communicating with site managers to coordinate repairs and reduce downtime
  • Following all safety procedures and ensuring safe equipment operation

This is a field-based role where no two days are exactly the same. You will be moving between locations and handling both scheduled maintenance and unexpected repairs.Required Qualifications
Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:
  • 2+ years of mechanical or maintenance experience
  • Basic electrical troubleshooting knowledge (120V / 240V / 480V)
  • Experience working with pumps, motors, conveyors, or similar equipment
  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment safely and effectively
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in wet, outdoor, or industrial environments
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Candidates who do not meet these requirements should not apply, as hands-on experience is necessary to be successful in this role.Preferred Experience (Not Required)
The following experience is a plus but not required:
  • Car wash equipment experience (Sonny's, MacNeil, PECO, or similar systems)
  • Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) troubleshooting
  • Basic PLC understanding or diagnostic exposure
  • Plumbing, compressed air, or water system maintenance
  • Preventative maintenance program experience
  • Multi-location service or field technician work

This is a field maintenance position supporting multiple East Tennessee locations. You will be traveling between sites as needed based on maintenance schedules and service calls.
  • Monday through Friday schedule
  • Occasional weekend work may be required
  • On-call rotation for emergency breakdowns
  • Fast-paced environment where equipment uptime is a priority
  • Work is performed in wet, outdoor, and mechanical environments
