Job description

Location: St. Petersburg/Bradenton/Sarasota

Salary: $24.00-30.00 Per Hour (Non-Exempt)

Summary:

The Service and Install Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing car wash equipment while ensuring high-quality workmanship and customer satisfaction. This role involves staging and inspecting equipment, performing preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and electronic issues to complete repairs efficiently. The ideal candidate brings strong technical skills, clear communication, and a professional approach when working with customers and maintaining tools and equipment.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Unloading and staging of new equipment on job sites.
  • Inspecting equipment prior to installation and documenting any damage occurred during shipment.
  • Installation of new car wash equipment.
  • Removal of old car wash equipment.
  • Maintains tools, test equipment, and materials in a professional manner.
  • Requires good communication skills.
  • Provides superior customer service when interfacing with customers. 
  • Knowledge of proper use of power tools, (i.e. hammer drills, grinder).
  • Accurately perceives information from others.
  • Assures appropriate flow of information and reports matters clearly, concisely and accurately. 
  • Performs periodically scheduled and preventive maintenance on equipment as assigned by Dispatch.
  • Responsible for accurately troubleshooting chemical, mechanical, electrical, and electronic equipment, PLC controllers and power supplies; performs diagnostic analysis.
  • Performs repairs and corrects malfunctions as necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned. 

Job Requirements:

Education & Experience

  • Requires 1-3 years’ related experience.
  • Previous experience with Car Wash equipment.
  • Strong Mechanical and Plumbing skills.

Functional/Technical Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Ability to read and understand electrical diagrams.
  • Understanding of PLC controllers, low voltage control circuits and three-phase power.
  • Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) are a must.
  • Ability to read and comprehend documents and follow simple instructions.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.  
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, climb and use hands to grip regularly. 
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. 
  • Prolonged periods of sitting. 
  • Maintain professional appearance and grooming standards as outlined.
