Car Show Modeling information

What is car show modeling?

Car show modeling is a profession where individuals, often referred to as promotional models or booth models, are hired to represent automotive brands at car shows, trade shows, and promotional events. Their primary role is to attract attention to vehicles on display, interact with attendees, provide information about the cars, and enhance the overall brand image. Car show models may also participate in photo opportunities, distribute promotional material, and assist with event activities. This job requires excellent communication skills, a professional appearance, and the ability to engage with the public effectively. Many car show models work on a freelance or contract basis for agencies or directly with automotive companies.

What are the typical responsibilities and expectations for a car show model during an automotive event?

Car Show Models are expected to represent automotive brands professionally by engaging with event attendees, posing with vehicles for photos, and communicating key product features. They often collaborate closely with marketing teams and brand representatives to ensure consistent messaging and may assist with demonstrations or presentations. Maintaining a polished appearance, punctuality, and strong interpersonal skills are essential, as the role involves long hours on the event floor and significant public interaction. Adaptability is important, as responsibilities can vary based on the event's size and the brand’s promotional strategy.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a car show model, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Car Show Model, you need a professional appearance, strong presentation skills, and experience in promotional modeling or related fields. Familiarity with automotive brands, event protocols, and sometimes knowledge of modeling agencies or certifications can be advantageous. Exceptional communication, confidence, and the ability to engage with diverse audiences help models stand out. These skills are crucial for effectively representing brands, interacting with attendees, and contributing to a successful event experience.

Description

At MOJO Car Wash, our members are the heart of the business. The Sales Lead is the person who turns a single wash into a lifelong member.

Stationed at the pay station (the payhead), you are the first friendly face our customers meet and our top driver of membership growth. Every car that pulls up is an opportunity: your job is to greet each guest, show them how our Unlimited Wash Club saves them money, and convert single-wash buyers into members on the spot  while keeping the line moving and the experience upbeat.

This is a high-energy, results-driven role for someone who loves people and loves to close. You’ll own the daily membership numbers at your site, set the tone for the sales culture on the lot, and directly grow both recurring memberships and paid wash traffic.

What You’ll Do

Drive Membership Sales at the Pay Station

• Greet every guest at the payhead with energy and a genuine welcome.

• Pitch the Unlimited Wash Club on every transaction, using the simple “pays for itself in two washes” value story.

• Enroll new members on the spot and hit daily, weekly, and monthly membership targets.

• Overcome objections with confidence and turn “just the single wash” into a membership.

Grow Paid Traffic & Revenue

• Upsell single-wash customers to higher wash packages and add-ons.

• Promote current offers, promotions, and referral incentives to increase paid volume.

• Capture customer contact info and leads for follow-up where applicable.

Own the Numbers & Set the Pace

• Track your conversion rate (capture rate) and membership counts against goal every shift.

• Model and coach on-lot sales behavior for other team members at the pay station.

• Report daily results to the Site / General Manager and help the site hit its membership plan.

Deliver a Great Guest Experience

• Keep the pay lane moving quickly so sales never slow the customer down.

• Answer questions on plans, billing, and wash options accurately and cheerfully.

• Represent the MOJO brand with a positive, professional, can-do attitude in all weather.

Requirements

What You Bring

• A natural closer  you enjoy sales, thrive on goals, and love hitting targets.

• Outgoing, high-energy personality with a genuine ability to connect with people fast.

• Prior sales, retail, hospitality, or customer-facing experience preferred (membership or subscription sales a plus).

• Comfortable working outdoors at the pay station in varying weather conditions.

• Able to work a flexible schedule including weekends and peak wash times.

• Coachable, competitive, dependable, and motivated by performance-based rewards.

• Basic comfort with POS systems and mobile enrollment tools.

Why You’ll Love It

• Performance-based incentives  the more members you sign, the more you earn.

• A fast-growing, high-energy brand scaling across multiple markets.

• Clear metrics, real ownership, and a direct line between your effort and results.

• A path to grow into Site Lead, management, and beyond.
