POSITION SUMMARYThe New Model Engineer is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing new product development and launch activities from concept through production. This role supports engineering design, testing, validation, and implementation of new products while ensuring compliance with customer requirements, quality standards, and project timelines.The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, experience in product development and manufacturing processes, and the ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, quality, manufacturing, and customer teams.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESResponsibilities include, but are not limited to:Conduct testing, experimentation, and validation activities on new and existing product designs to evaluate functionality, performance, and manufacturability.Analyze engineering data and test results to support product development, design improvements, and cost optimization.Develop and launch new products, components, and systems while meeting customer requirements, quality standards, and production objectives.Coordinate prototype builds, pilot runs, and production launches to ensure the successful implementation of new programs.Support engineering change management activities, including design revisions and process improvements.Work closely with manufacturing teams to ensure products can be produced efficiently and consistently.Direct testing activities and evaluate results to verify products meet design specifications and performance requirements.Identify opportunities for product, process, and design improvements to enhance quality, reliability, and customer satisfaction.Assist with the development of technical drawings, specifications, process documentation, and engineering standards.Collaborate with suppliers, customers, quality, manufacturing, and engineering teams throughout the product development lifecycle.Conduct research and evaluation of new technologies, materials, and manufacturing processes.Support continuous improvement initiatives related to product design, manufacturing efficiency, quality, and cost reduction.
