Job description

Description

Position Summary:

Repairs utility cuts in streets by the pouring of concrete, laying down asphalt, framing up curbs and gutters and operating equipment.


Essential Duties:

  • Bench back utility street cuts
  • Dig out any existing
  • Retamp and pour six inches of concrete and spread two inches of asphalt
  • Pour side walk curbs and gutters as needed
  • Take car of the equipment
  • Required to work extra hours as deemed necessary by Department Head
  • Required to perform other duties as assigned


Requirements

Knowledge & Skills: 

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid CDL driver's license
  • Good verbal and written communication skills 
  • Masonry skills
  • Carpenter skills to lay out curve and sidewalk
  • One year experience


Physical/Environmental Requirements

The environmental working conditions of this position include constantly working outside around traffic, in all types of weather, including heat, cold and rain. Also, frequently works around traffic, hazardous machinery and loud noise. Occasionally works at night, and around dust or fumes.
