Used Car Reconditioning Technician

We are looking for a skilled Used Car Reconditioning Technician who is well versed in vehicle diagnostics and complex repairs to join our team. As a Used Car Reconditioning Technician, you will inspect and perform necessary maintenance and repairs on trade-ins and purchased vehicles for our pre-owned inventory, ensuring vehicles are safe, reliable and ready for their new owner.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Complete comprehensive multi-point inspections on used cars to identify damages and maintenance needs, documenting findings and recommended repairs.
  • Perform thorough diagnostics, maintenance and repairs to vehicle systems including engine, transmission, electrical, steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning, etc.
  • Inform the Service Director of any additional services or repairs needed, estimating the time needed to complete the work.
  • Perform work on the repair order per dealership standards and document all work completed.

Desired Qualifications and Experience:

  • A minimum of 4 years of experience performing automotive inspections, diagnostics, repairs and maintenance required.
  • BMW experience and certifications are preferred; ASE certifications are a plus.
  • Demonstrates thorough workmanship coupled with strong troubleshooting and problem solving abilities.
  • Effective written and verbal communication and general computer skills.
  • Collaborative and willing to work as part of a team.
  • Must have your own tools and tool box.
  • Ability to handle the physical demands of the job (frequent heavy lifting and standing, bending or kneeling for extended periods).
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check.

Hours and Work Environment:

Our Service Department is open Monday – Friday 7am – 6pm and Saturday 8am – 5pm. We are looking for flexible candidates to work various shifts during the department’s business hours.
