The Hilb Group is currently seeking a motivated and ambitious National Practice Leader, Self-Funded & Captive Insurance to join our team. This position will report to our agency located in Cranston, RI. The ideal candidate will be motivated to succeed, is well organized, able to prioritize, and able to work well with a team. This is an in-office position.
Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute the practice's strategic vision and business plans.
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives and align stakeholders around key objectives.
  • Enhance organizational performance and client outcomes.
  • Drive revenue growth through new business, client expansion, and market development.
  • Support producers in executive presentations, proposals, and finalist meetings.
  • Increase market presence and practice visibility.
  • Establish goals, metrics, dashboards, and accountability measures.
  • Monitor performance, manage risks, and ensure timely execution.
  • Maintain compliance with regulatory and governance requirements.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, carriers, vendors, and internal partners.
  • Lead captive meetings and support risk management and funding strategies.
  • Build and maintain key strategic relationships.
  • Mentor producers and team members.
  • Promote best practices, accountability, collaboration, and innovation.
  • Influence and align teams to achieve strategic outcomes.

Qualifications:
  • 10+ years in employee benefits, captive insurance, self-funded health plans, consulting, business development, or related leadership roles.
  • Proven success leading strategic initiatives and cross-functional teams.
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Life and Health Insurance License or ability to immediately obtain.
  • Deep knowledge of self-funded plans, captive structures, alternative funding, risk management, and regulatory compliance.
  • Experience supporting complex client benefit funding strategies.
