About Knightscope
Knightscope (NASDAQ: KSCP) is a security technology company building the nation's first Autonomous Security Force - autonomous machines, AI-driven software, and elite security professionals operating as one integrated managed service. The Company is on a mission to make the United States of America the safest country in the world. One Team. One Force.

Knightscope is seeking a hands-on, technically proficient Program Engineer to own the K1 stationary product family - the K1 Hemisphere, K1 Tower, K1 Blue Light Tower, K1 Blue Light E-Phone, K1 Call Box, and K1 Retrofit Kit - in production and in the field, while supporting new product development for the next generation K1 Retrofit Kit, K1 Capsule and K1 Super Towers. You will be the day-to-day product, program, and technical owner for these lines, reporting to the K1/H1 Chief Program Engineer. This is a rare opportunity to help overhaul the nation's public safety and security infrastructure with a mission-driven team in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serve as the single point of accountability for all technical aspects of the K1 stationary product family in production and in the field.
  • Lead new product development for the next generation K1 Retrofit Kit - from concept through validation, regulatory approvals, and production ramp - including integration with the Knightscope Signals platform.
  • Support K1 Capsule and K1 Super Tower product development efforts.
  • Own product quality, reliability, and field performance across deployed units nationwide - including installation standards, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and permanent corrective action.
  • Manage program schedules, build complexity, technical risks, design reviews, BOM cost targets, and technical program documentation.
  • Work closely with supply chain and manufacturing teams to ensure cost, quality, reliability, cybersecurity, and scalability targets are met.
  • Serve as the technical resource for marketing, sales, and service - site requirements, specification reviews, proposal support, and technical escalations.

  • Drive continuous improvement in product capabilities, manufacturability, installations, and field performance.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering required.
  • 5+ years of experience in product development, sustaining engineering, or program engineering across emergency communications, life-safety systems, telecommunications, IoT platforms, or electromechanical systems.
  • Solid understanding of outdoor-rated, field-deployed devices - enclosures, power (AC, solar, PoE), cellular and VoIP communications, remote management, and cybersecurity.
  • Hands-on experience building, validating, and supporting integrated hardware platforms in production.
  • Familiarity with relevant codes and standards (UL, FCC, ADA, NFPA, and campus life-safety requirements) is a strong plus.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, analytical thinking, and decision-making under pressure.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, start-up-like environment with minimal supervision.
  • US citizenship is required for this position.

COMPENSATION

  • Base salary range: $130,000 - $160,000, depending on experience and qualifications
  • Stock option grant
  • Performance bonus

  • Paid time off, holidays, and more
